Chapter 14 "Beg First"

1600 Words
At that exact moment, the male lead stripped off Jane’s top, along with his own, after climbing over her. Chadwick inhaled deeply and shut his eyes. He couldn’t keep watching this anymore. “Adira… just f*****g change it,” he whispered, sounding desperate. “You closed your eyes? Oh no, you missed Michael licking Jane’s legs. That was so sexy,” Adira teased. “ADIRA!” Chadwick yelled, anger flaring. The veins on his neck bulged, along with the prominent veins on his hands. Even with his eyes shut, he could still hear the moans from the movie, mixed with Adira’s low, husky chuckle. “Why? Are you getting turned on?” Turned on? Who?! Chadwick?! ‘I’m getting what?!’ Chadwick, unable to accept it, gasped inwardly. He had been living with Adira for nearly six months. And now he was getting turned on just from watching a lewd movie with his beautiful, sexy wife?! ‘That’s not true! I—!’ Chadwick forced himself to open his eyes and looked at Adira. She was wearing a simple shirt, yet he could still see the fullness of her chest and the slimness of her waist. He wondered if she was light enough for him to carry easily. Then his gaze drifted to her neck—so pale, so smooth, as if even a single bite would leave a mark. He swallowed before his eyes moved to her face. Her long lashes fluttered each time she blinked slowly, her almond-shaped eyes calm and unreadable. Her lips—red and slightly swollen—parted just enough, tempting him to find out how they would taste. She was so beautiful that no man could resist the urge to hold her, to claim her, to make her his. So… would Chadwick give in to that temptation? “You’re really… insane,” he said. He grabbed the remote from Adira with his left hand and turned off the TV. Then he stood and walked away from her. “Where are you going?” Adira asked with a soft laugh. Chadwick didn’t respond. He simply went to his room, shutting the door loudly behind him and making sure to lock it so Adira couldn’t get in. The moment he entered, Chadwick dropped onto his bed with a grunt. “That sly fox,” he muttered, covering his eyes with his left arm. He found a moment of peace away from his troublesome wife. But it didn’t last. “Chadwick!” Adira called from outside. He lowered his arm, his sharp gaze shooting toward the door. “What?!” “Are you sure you don’t need my help?” “I don’t! I really don’t need your help, so just leave me alone!” “Alright. Your pride, seriously. Well, I hope you won’t come begging me for help later.” “I won’t! NEVER!” He heard her laugh before her footsteps faded. A door closed somewhere, making him think she had gone back to her own room. With that, Chadwick finally relaxed. ‘Thank goodness.’ He placed his good hand over his chest, wondering why the hell he was getting nervous around his own wife. Before, no matter what Adira did, he was never affected. But now… “I’m sick. That’s it. Something must be wrong with my brain after the accident,” Chadwick muttered repeatedly, like a chant. He turned onto his side. Facing the left side of the room, his eyes landed on a paper bag on the floor. Even now, he still hadn’t given her the birthday gift inside. Almost a week had passed, yet he still didn’t have the courage. He felt like he didn’t have the right. Neil had told him that Adira once asked if Chadwick had feelings for Isa. Because of that, Neil kept nagging him, saying it was wrong to keep Isa close if he had those kinds of feelings. Neil sympathized with Adira, seeing her as a pitiful wife whose place had been taken by Isa. After all, wasn’t Isa the one who stayed by Chadwick’s side during his week in the hospital? A wife should have done that. Even Chadwick’s secretary believed Adira had been pushed aside and had no choice but to step back. But Neil was wrong. Chadwick had tried to make her stay. He even asked her to be with him. But Adira was the one who chose to leave, as if she had no reason to stay by her husband’s side. “I always told her to leave me alone,” Chadwick murmured. “But in reality… she’s the one who wanted to stay away.” Even when Adira offered herself to him, her mind and heart were somewhere else. He knew she didn’t see him as a man, nor did she have any intention of loving him. To her, he was just a tool—something she could use and discard anytime. Chadwick hated that. He hated insincerity. Yes, their marriage was for business, but… would it really hurt her to be more honest? They couldn’t be a loving husband and wife. But they could at least be friends. They could live peacefully under one roof—if only Adira would stop trying to lure him into sleeping with her. ‘But she wants children… she’s worried about growing old without ever having one,’ Chadwick added in his thoughts. She wasn’t joking about wanting to become a mother. But Chadwick couldn’t give her that. What kind of child would grow up knowing their parents had been together without love? And if they divorced someday, wouldn’t that leave lasting scars? Conflicted, Chadwick sat up and sighed. He had never really considered Adira’s wish before…not until now. As he was thinking, his stomach suddenly twisted in pain. “Argh,” he groaned, clutching his abdomen. He realized he hadn’t gone to the bathroom since morning. “I need to let this out,” he muttered. He stood up and reached for his belt with his left hand. He tried to unbuckle it with just one hand, but— “…Oh?” It wouldn’t budge. Then he remembered that Neil had helped fasten it earlier. Which meant… he needed help to take it off too. “Damn it,” Chadwick cursed. He had been so determined not to rely on Adira, but now he had no choice. And that led to another problem. How was he supposed to ask his wife, who had been teasing and seducing him, to unbuckle his belt?! If it wasn’t urgent, he could’ve waited for Neil. But his stomach was cramping badly now. If he didn’t go soon, he might embarrass himself, and never hear the end of it from Elena. Chadwick tried his best to hold it in. He really did. “Oh my god, I’m gonna lose my mind,” he groaned, almost on the verge of tears. His face turned pale. Sweat formed on his forehead, his palms went cold, and it felt like there was fire burning in his gut. “s**t,” he whispered, trembling. Holding himself, Chadwick finally gave in. He rushed out of his room, knocked on Adira’s door, and shouted, “Hey! I need your help!” Adira, who had been expecting this, opened the door. She saw him shaking, biting his lip. “What? I thought you didn’t need me?” she said, crossing her arms. “Let’s not t-talk about that right now. J-Just help me. Q-Quick! Ahh—!” “Beg.” “…Huh?” “If you really want my help after pushing me away, then beg.” “Adira—!” “You don’t want to? Then—” She started to close the door, but Chadwick quickly stopped it with his hand. “Alright! Alright! I beg you! I’m begging you, Adira. Please, help me.” A playful grin spread across her lips. “Okay. Since you’re asking so desperately, I’ll help you. So… what exactly do you need?” Chadwick’s pale face suddenly flushed red. He turned his head away and mumbled. “…$%^&*…” “What? I didn’t hear you,” Adira said. “I said—!” He swallowed. “H-Help me take off my belt.” Her eyes widened briefly before settling. “Take off your… what?” “B-Belt.” She glanced down at the complicated buckle around his waist, then smiled in a slightly wicked way. “I see,” she murmured, nodding. “Then beg again.” “Again?! Are you serious?!” “Should I just leave you?” “No! D-Don’t! I’ll do it!” “Then say it properly: I beg you to unbuckle my belt.” “H-Hey…” “Say it.” Left with no choice, Chadwick shut his eyes. “I—I beg you, Adira,” he said, then louder, “I beg you to unbuckle my belt for me!” Silence followed. His voice echoed in his ears. When he opened his eyes, Adira was smirking, clearly pleased. “As you wish, honey,” she said softly. She knelt in front of him and placed her hands on his belt. The position felt… strange. For a moment, Chadwick forgot about his stomach as he stared at her. “W-What are you doing?” he stammered, blushing. “Why are you kneeling like that?” “You asked me to unbuckle your belt,” Adira said, looking up at him. “Why? Are you thinking of something else?” Chadwick was. And he hated himself for it.
