I hear the scream again, and immediately slam the book shut. I have to get Taylor and get out of here. “No, please,” I hear Taylor whimper. “I’m sorry, I promise I’ll tell Sammy whatever you want, and I’ll never come back here. I tuck the ledger under my arm and crawl over to the window. I put my hands on the window sill and pull myself up enough that I can peak outside. Taylor is still on the ground, but it looks like her hands are bound together at the wrist. The fire is roaring and Al takes a glass bottle of some brown liquid from Jenna and takes a swig of it. “We had an agreement,” Al says, walking up to Taylor. “We stay over here, and y’all keep off my land!” “Please, I don’t know about any agreement.
