Skyler listened to the words and watched as letters were entered into the computer. A funny shape appeared on the screen, and in between Aiden and Kiersten’s names, hers was entered. Looking at the other names, she reached out to briefly touch those of King Dimitri and Queen Aiomabelle. She could feel that Kiersten and Aiden were holding their breath and picked up the uncertainty and sadness from the energy around them. Thinking she had done something wrong, her hand moved away, and she looked questioningly up at the man who promised to take care of her.
Aiden lowered himself to Skyler’s level and searched her eyes. “Do you understand what happened to them?”
