13 Work as a rural alchemist was quite primitive. I didn't really understand why they needed a university graduate. Any qualified mechanic, a graduate of a specialty school, could do most of the tasks. But it seems like the staff at the local technical support office, whose job was to promote new technologies to farmers and provide support, was a bit old. And, sensing they needed fresh blood, Mr. Braham asked the head office for a new alchemist, aware of the latest trends. So, I was officially given all maintenance and repair tasks with new equipment. Which, I must acknowledge, was quite exciting.
