After I performed some calculations, I easily removed all the defensive spells, avoiding all the structural spells.
The process, though, was quite destructive.
"Did you have to tear holes on the walls and floors?" Jack asked as he observed the results of the cleanup. "Couldn't you just remove the magic?"
The house looked like somebody had torn it apart looking for treasure.
"Yes," I said. "Strong magical channels embed themselves into the very structure of objects. I had to get rid of the material base of the magic because it would otherwise interfere with any future magic. Don't worry, we needed to fix everything, anyway."
"But you said you wanted to move soon," Jack said. "It doesn't seem we'll be able to move soon."
"I don't see a problem," I said. "The bedroom is alright."
