Finally, today's the day. I'm finally going through recognition. My mom was as nervous as I was. This ceremony determines what my purpose is, what my legacy will be.
My sister thinks her position will be as a royal participant or a respected duchess of a neighboring kingdom. If that happens, we'll be doomed. As I get ready, Ashley calls;
"Hey, you ready for the ceremony?!" Ashley said excitedly.
"Yeah, are you headed there now?"
"Yeah, well see you there!" said Ashley
I'm so nervous. Seeing my life is set into motion for me. It's the thrill of the mystery. I'm ready to find out. I get downstairs to see my family, still getting ready. My sister is wearing a short pastel dress and 6-inch heels. My parents and my brother wore formal clothing; while I wore a light blue jacket with a white shirt, jeans, and white shoes.
"Oh my god! Are you seriously wearing that to the recognition? You aren't even trying." said Rebecca.
"Well, I'm not trying to show my ass like you," I said.
My brother started laughing at my response. Her face cracked me up. She is so easy to annoy. I can't wait to have her leave. We get into the car and head to the ceremony.
~At the Ceremony~
Rebecca and I sit in our according classes. Rebecca gives me a pouty face and whispers "bye, bye." I'm happy I'll soon be away from her. Ashley surprised me from behind.
"Hey! Oh my gosh, I can't believe we're here!" said Ashley.
"Yeah, it only feels like it was yesterday that we were throwing papers at Mr. Rogers," I said laughing;
"Yeah, those were the day. Well let's sit down, they're starting;" I said to Ashley;
-Welcome students. It has been an honor to be teaching your generation and happy to see you move on to your fate. So without furthermore, Let's begin the ceremony.-
Claps and cheers were rising around the crowd. I watched as everyone I knew received their futures like soldiers, musicians, artists, and so much more.
After some time, It finally came to my sister Rebecca; she went up the stage and the headmaster started;
-Rebecca Dove, you have completed your studies at the Richard Academy and are prepared for your future; You have been chosen to be the Queen's Apprentice. You will serve under your majesty and serve out tasks under her name. It is your fate, your future, your destiny.-
I wasn't expecting that to be her future. Well, I wish the best of luck to the queen. I hope to be the farthest away from that mess. Her face, as she walks down, is a face of pride and a showoff. After Rebecca; Ashley goes up, she walks up the stage and it begins;
-Ashley Copper, you have completed your studies at the Richard Academy and are prepared for your future, You have been chosen to be a chef in the Castle of Ross. You will serve the king and queen through your time alive. It is your fate, your future, your destiny.-
I'm happy for Ashley, she got her dream job; Even if we don't see each other anymore, I wouldn't want her to be sad. I then hear my name and begin to walk up. I felt the eyes on me as I walked up. I walked towards the headmaster and he started;
-Maze Dove, you have completed your studies at the Richard Academy and are prepared for your future; You have been chosen to be...-
All of a sudden, the headmaster gasped at my results. I start to get worried that I'd be just a common housewife. But, he then whispers something into the superintendent. He then walks up to me and says,
-Maze, you are a descendant of the Royal Ross family.-
The crowd gasps in shock and I was also confused.
-You are here on out, sent to the castle, and live under the family. They will teach you to be a queen and rule alongside them. It is your fate, your future, your destiny.-
