Life Before

677 Words
Below all the gold and elites of the city, there lives a society full of people. That works hard every day to support the population and never get recognition. My routine starts at 5:30 am, with me going on a jog in the woods. I enjoy going out and running, feeling the air on my face and the smell of the forest around me. I come back around 6:30 am to breakfast served.   "Hello sweety, here's your food, also can you wake up your siblings?" said Emily calmly.  Emily Dove, my mother, and also the sweetest person in the world; She sacrificed so much for my family. She has been my role model my whole life. Along with my mother, I live with my father, brother, and my sister.    "Wake up sleeping beauty, the food's ready," I said sarcastically.  "GET OUT OF MY ROOM MAZE!" said Rebecca angrily. My sister, Rebecca, isn't a sweetheart as she seems. She's selfish and thinks she's royalty. Sometimes I wonder if we're even related.    "Wake up bro-" As I open the door, water hits my face, and my brother holding a water gun, "Are you 12 or what?"  "What are you, old?" said Austin jokingly. I rolled my eyes; "Breakfast is ready downstairs, hurry up." I said closing the door. My brother Austin is the oldest in the house. Even though he's childish, he will protect those he loves. After Austin got ready, we got to eat. As you see, my family is close. We all do our part and try to be there for each other.   "Well, I have to get to work. Bye, mom and dad." Since we don't have much money, I decided to get a job to help out. I'm not one of those people that sit around and wait for a miracle, instead, I make miracles; At a bakery downtown, I work with my friend, Ashley, who is the best person in my life. She has been my friend since grade school and has always had my back.   "Looks like someone's hyped," Ashley said with a simple smile.   "Yeah, what about you? Aren't you waiting for the recognition?"  The recognition is a ceremony done every year. It gets crazy since it labels our jobs in society. I've been waiting for the recognition. My brother went through and got blacksmith. But, he decided to stay home for a year to help my parents instead of starting his life in the castle.   "I hope we get the same job. Hopefully in the castle quarters near the royals!" Ashley said excitedly.   "Please I hope to become a teacher and help those become the best them. Not serve those who are lazy to do their dirty work." I said annoyed; As soon as we opened, I felt like myself. Even though it's a small place, the aura I felt soothed my mind and made me feel comfortable; I like to serve people, but only those who work hard.   "Hello, welcome to Sweety! How may I serve you?"  As I looked up, I notice the customer's features. His eyes looked as white as snow, but his appearance looked so dark. I also notice he looking very tense at me.   "Sir, what would you like?" I said with a bit of annoyance. After I said that, the finally spoke and said;   "You should learn to respect those who are elites." He said This guy has the nerve to come in here, demanding respect after looking at me as if I'm a ghost; This is why I hate them. They act as if they are better just because of money.   "I'm sorry, you're the one who wasn't responding to my question. And just staring at me, creep." I said furiously. We kept looking at each other, waiting for one of us to back down. I just kept looking into his eyes, like I was in a vortex and I couldn't get out. Ashley pulled me away and decided to serve him.    "Go and relax, I'll handle this one," Ashley said whispering. I went to the break room to cool off. That guy was so rude and had no right to be. So, why am I not as angry as I should be?
