Chad
The evening had been rough for Chad and he had not slept at all. Chad was in two minds. He must either remain loyal to his best friend and future king and forget everything that happened between Mia and himself. He would have to act like a proper royal Beta towards his future Queen Luna and bury all his feelings he habours towards her and not to mention all the lustful thoughts. The other part of him wanted to throw it all alway. Pack up and run away with her so he could keep her by his side forever and show her what it would be to be fully loved by a wolf.
However he could not run away with her as much as he would want to. He was the honorable man and would not desert his position or dishonor his family like that. He had to also remind himself that his mate is also somewhere out there.
As Chad walked in the kitchen he noticed that Mia and Lily was sitting in the far quiet corner speaking. He walked towards them and when Mia's eye's met his. He could clearly see how she panicked. Well this isn't going to be easy he thought to himself.
"Good morning Ladies. Mia would you mind taking a walk with me. I would like to have a word with you." Chad asked politely. Mia looked into his eyes again and he could see she was worried. In that moment he wished he could just take all her worries away and make her smile again but he needed to get this over with. After a short moment which felt like forever Mia nodded her head, confirming that she was fine with it. Mia quickly gave Lily another hug before standing up and walking out with Chad.
They both walked in silence not knowing what to say. "It's my fault. None of this would of happened if I didn't misinterpret the situation. I'm sorry." Mia said softly breaking the silence.
"How could you think that. You thought I was your mate. I had no idea why this amazing shewolf was into me. This is nobody's fault. Life just throws us weird curve balls. This one in particular was messed up but it wasn't our fault." Chad said well secretly thinking it was Zac's fault.
"I would have loved for you to be my true mate. You have everything a wolf could wish for. Goddess, if I'm honest with you, I would have given my left nut for you to be mine. But you belong to another. As much as I don't like it. I have to treat you as my future Queen going forward. You will be the Royal Queen Luna and I will be your trusted royal Beta." Chad said. At that moment he could not help but stare at her luscious plump lips and he had to stop himself from leaning forward and kissing her passionately.
" I understand..... I truly hope that you get the amazing mate that you deserve." Mia said to Zac.
"Thank you Mia, is it too much to ask for, I would still like to be your friend." Chad asked. "Of course!" Mia immediately replied and wrapped her arms around him and gave him a hug.
While they were still in the embrace Zac arrived in the gardens and he let out the most Menacing Growl.
"Let go of her!" Zac roared. He quickly mindlinked Chad. "I am going to kill you!" Zac said through the mind link.
"I'm doing nothing wrong. We hugging in a friendly manner. It's not like we in bed." Chad explained.
"Oh you mean again?" Zac shot back.
"Hey bro, we spoke about that s**t already. It's not going to help us living in the past." Chad said.
"While as long as you don't touch what is mine, then you can keep your head." Zac threated Chad.
Chad took a step back and replied "Happy?". "Not quite yet. I came to tell Mia she is moving into my chambers where I can protect her." Zac informed them.
"But... ummm...." Mia tried to say before Zac cut her off. "No buts!" Zac said. "This is the palace... I'm.... Safe... Here." She stuttered. "You will be more safe with me in my chambers and I will not have it any other way. Can you imagine how the people would talk of their future King and Queen in separate rooms?" Zac said.
Mia just looked down at her feet in defeat.
Chad wanted to speak up on behalf of Mia but he knew it would only make things worse and in the end just kept quiet.
