Chapter 6: What just happened?

I peek around the bedroom door and see Alex's brother push past him and look around my living room and sneers at my place like it was some third world hut. I honestly dislike him with a passion at this point.

"I'm here because grandfather has a message, if you're so interested in screwing the poor girl do so, but don't mark her. have you're fun and then reject her. she isn't on our level and he won't have you mating with someone beneath our status. he said enjoy you're little romp in the woods and then get back to reality."

I throw on another dress I have in the bedroom and before Alex can respond I run up to Eric and slap him across his smug face

"how dare you come into my house uninvited, insult me and make little empty threats, you are not an alpha, yet you speak to one like you're better. I demand you to leave my house and you can tell that old man he has no control over me and what I do."

Eric looks shocked like no one has ever dared speak to him that way, let alone laid hands on the fool.

I link Luna Emily to tell her what has happened. she links back that they are sending Beta Peter and Gamma Bruce down to remove the unwanted guest.

Alex stands in the doorway and the energy that is coming off him is dangerous.

I am pointing Eric out of my house as he wines about nothing, as he turns to face the door he quickly steps back from the sight of his brother.

Alex is losing control of his wolf. Eric seeing the struggle starts to raise his hand defensively.

" brother please calm down, grandfather is only doing what he believes is best for the family and pack, reject this girl and let's go home and forget this whole embarrassing ordeal ever happened. There are plenty of suitable choices for your mate. Just not her and not today."

Alex isn't listening, I'm not sure if he can at this point. I see the wolf start to shift and Eric starts to panic.

"Bear calm down, come on don't kill the messenger"

I'm confused, then I realize that he isn't talking to Alex anymore he is trying to beg for the wolf to calm down.

In a flash Alex fully shifted and Bear is there. his Large brown body can't fit through the doorway. A table gets knocked over and papers and books go everywhere.

I hear the snarling and the drool dripping on my wooden floorboards. I see the dark angry eyes as he starts to make his way to Eric. Eric runs behind me, and I scoff at the coward he is. I reach out a bit unsure and extend my hand towards Bear saying in a low soothing voice.

" hey love, I know you're angry I am too but let's try to calm down before someone gets hurt."

I really was angry, my entire chest is fused like a bomb about to go off. I've never been angry like this. It felt metallic and murderous.

I see Bear shift his gaze to me still snarling like a wild beast. I can see his gums and the fur is sticking up on the end. I motion for him to lay down and he complied. I start humming a little lullaby nothing in particular just something soothing and I see his ears move in my direction. he stops snarling.

"ok, that got your attention".

I start walking towards the brown coated wolf his eyes fixated to mine. I kneel down and start running my hands in his ruffled fur.

I wrap Bear in a hug and breath deep. I hear the paw steps of the beta and gamma just in time. They come up to the door but back off seeing Bears huge figure there.

They shift back standing on the porch because they are blocked from coming in. and I feel Alex shift back holding me in his arms kissing my forehead, chuckling a softly in my hair.

"Well, that was impressive and unexpected. Eric you should thank jade for saving you're life because I was about to rip you to pieces brother or no brother of mine in her lovely living room."

beta peter spoke first.

" We came as fast as we could, what seems to be the problem."

He looks at all three of us. It really must have been a sight. spilled mugs of cold tea, journals everywhere and a broken table. My clothes scattered all over and a whimpering Eric.

Alex and I half dressed kneeling on the floor holding each other in a pile of different clothes from earlier.

"Luna Emily is in a frantic and alpha Jackson and alpha Sullivan have been yelling non stop in the meeting hall since you two left."

he looked right at Eric

"who gave you permission to wander around freely. "

beta peter seemed annoyed at this visitor and I felt the same.

there was some more arguing back and forth and the tension was beginning to ramp up again in the room.

I'm so embarrassed and upset because I'm heartbroken that people are trying to stop us being together. Before I knew it i just start crying. it's all too much, what is going on.? why are there 4 men in my house and why can't I be marked by my mate, why am I not good enough?

I hear another person run up behind beta peter and gamma troy. I know it's marcy before I can even look up. She pushes past everyone, takes a good look at what's going on and starts yelling at everyone.

" Out all of you. even you Romeo, I don't know what's going on and I don't like the fact my friend is crying on the floor half dressed, everyone out NOW!"

She shoved my mate off of me and grabbed my arm and pulled me away from Alex. guiding me to my room.

She slams the door and angrily walks into my bathroom and starts to run a hot bath. She starts throwing bath salts and bubbles in there and tells me to sit down while she goes and makes sure they listened to her and cleared out.

Marcy may be only 5'4 with shoulder length red curls, blue eyes. she is the fastest runner I know and a temper to match the hair. she is small but fierce. she starts yelling and I hear my mate whine. she comes back into the room grabs his boots and clothes and throws them at him.

" Go and fix what ever this is because until you bring the peace back your not coming anywhere near her. I'm not asking again get the f**k out of her house!"

With that beta peter and gamma Bruce drag Alex out of the house and Eric running ahead. I hear Alex growling and shouting and the beta telling him to calm down. I hate that he is upset. I feel the pain of being torn apart. but Marcy is right, I need some space and to clear my head.

I slip out of the dress and crawl into the steaming claw tub. marcy is there in the doorway hands folded with a scowl on her face.

"what the hell was that about!" she comes over and sits on the toilet seat next to the tub.

"I honestly don't know" I sigh

she reaches out to move my hair from my neck and frowns.

"he didn't even mark you"

I sink down into the bubbles and groan.

she smiles a bit and starts to help wash my hair, we've always done this for each other when the other one is sad or upset, and this one of those moments.

She starts to catche up on what had happened after we left.

"After you two ran off, that old alpha Sullivan started yelling at everyone demanding they stop you. That no one should allow this awful union because it wasn't a good match. Alpha Jackson tried calming him down. Everyone was confused because they all saw with their own eyes the meeting you shared. Luna Emily started to say what a wonderful person you are, what You've done for the pack and how much she loved you and he told her to learn her place and keep quiet like a breeder should be. "

I looked up in disbelief

"he said what to her!"

Marcy chuckled " yeah and she slapped him with a cherry tart right in his angry face, and started yelling about bad manners."

I laughed "good for her."

"Oh but the next part was wild, I've seen alpha Jackson mad but never like that. He runs over grabs the old man by his shirt and holds him high off the floor, and growls so loudly I thought the glassware would break. it took 4 alphas and 2 betas to get him to put the old man down."

She rinses my hair and wraps it up in a towel and I just sit in the bath soaking in the warmth playing with the bubbles. I feel my mate is pacing somewhere, he tries linking me but I ignore his tries, I hear Bear whining and Celeste is howling a lonely cry back to him.

She continues, " Apparently Alexander and alpha Jackson have been friends for years, they went to school for training at the palace and had been roommates. They never fully liked alpha Sullivan because he has those old fashion ideas about female placement and what they are good for. "

she scoffs in disgust.

"Alexander should be the next alpha but alpha Sullivan refuses to step down till Alexander finds a mate, but everyone knows he really wants his younger brother to take over instead. "

I look up baffled, I had seen what a whining coward Eric was. Alpha Sullivan Must be a crazy mad man to think Eric is a better choice then Alex. Alex was a beast of protection and stronger then 10 Eric's put together. why would you want Eric protecting the pack?

After that Marcy told me everything that had been talked about while I was gone. apparently its only been 2 hours since Alex burst through those oak doors and changing the entirety of my world.

I get up towel off and slip into something comfortable. Marcy had changed the sheets on my bed and made me a little snack and a herbal tea.

She showers and changes into some spare clothes she keeps at my place and she crawls into bed with me. I lay there knowing my mate isn't here and I find it hard to sleep. marcy reaches over to give me a sleepy hug and whispers.

"It's been a long day Jade, I think you deserve some sleep, I hope tomorrow goes well and you find each other's arms. but I want you to be prepared in case he rejects you."

she ment well

but it hit me hard in the darkness and I just started sobbing.She held me tighter as I sob myself to sleep, dreading daylight.
