Chapter 6, A Talk

Mom could not put her finger on it. But she could see something was not the same. She did not want to put anyone on the spot or try to start a fight. But she really wants to say something. But she just keeps it to herself.

After she was done with the dishes she went to go do the laundry. When she picked up one of the pants. A piece of paper falls out of it. It was one of Gianna’s pants. Mom should not have opened it, but she did. When she started to read it. She saw what it said, that it was about Gianna. And it was a pro and con list. Mom knew it was in Frank’s handwriting. She could not believe what she was seeing and reading. Frank might really like Gianna. She put the paper in her pocket. And put the clothes in the wash. She went upstairs, she keeps trying not to think about the paper she read. But it was so not working.

After a while, Gianna came down to get the meds for Frank. She grad two pills for him and went back upstairs to give them to him. “Hey, is mom ok, when I went downstairs she gave me a weird look. Do you know what that is all about”, Gianna said, handing him the meds so he can take them. “No, she has been fine to me. I am not sure what that was about”, Frank said, opening the bottle of water and downing his meds. “Don't ask me either. But knowing her we will find out at some point with her. So what are you doing today? Anything fun or cool”, Gianna said.

“Well not really I can't really do anything with my foot like this. So yeah. Why do u have something in mind or are you just asking me”, Frank said, picking up his phone. “No, not really, but I could find something if you want me to. I bet there's something you can do even with your foot like that”, Gianna said, getting her laptop and sitting at the end of the bed. “I don't care, it’s up to you. Do you want to find something to do? I might just lay around for today”, Frank said. “Ok, that is fine with me. But Stella and I are going to the mall. If you need something just text us”, Gianna said, logging onto f*******: and checking to see if anyone text her. “Ok, I will, you two have fun”, Frank said.

As the girls were at the mall, their mom could still not stop thinking about the paper she found. She also wanted to know what was going on. If she has two of her kids dating she should know about this, right”, Hallie thought to herself.

She walked up the stairs to Frank’s room. She saw Frank lying on the bed looking through his phone. She walked in and stood next to the side of the bed. “Hey Frank, can I ask you something”, mom said, sitting down on the end of the bed. Frank put his phone down next to him on the bed. He looked at his mom and saw that something was on her mind.

“Yeah what is it mom”, he said, sitting up more in the bed. Mom pulled out the paper that she found. Frank saw what she had in her hands and his eyes were bulging out of his head now. “What is that mom”, he said, trying to sound like he didn’t know what was coming to him. “So I found this when I was doing the laundry. It has Gianna’s name on it, but it is in your handwriting. Now I am not saying that I read it on purpose. But I kinda did open it to see if it was something that had to be thrown out or not”, mom said, with the picture of paper in her hand.

“Mom, before you go any further. Let me just say that I didn’t mean to have it happen like this. And the other thing is Stella started it. She was the one that asked the question when we were playing at the beach”, Frank said, shaking his head a little bit while chuckling to himself. Mom turned more in the bed so she could see his face better.

“What question dear”, mom said, waiting on him to answer. Frank sighed and told her about it, “Well, she asked it because you know how we both like to make each other crazy. But Stella also said that I like to smile too much when she is around and that she is seeing me look at her with something in my eyes. Well, she asked me if I like Gianna more than a friend.

Because I am also keeping the boys away from her. But mom, I am not sure. I see where Stella is coming from now when she asked the question, but now it got me to question myself with other things.

We both talked to each other about it because she heard Stella and me talking at the hospital, which we did not mean to let her hear. That is also why I ran into the tree because I could not get the question out of my head and I kept seeing everyone with someone wherever I looked. I am not sure what else to say to you mom”, Frank said, with a small smile at her.

Mom gave it a minute and she asked him the other question in her mind. “Hon, I have to ask because of something I saw. Are you having s*x with Gianna”, mom said, looking her son in the eyes. Frank wanted to smile or chuckle a little bit at his mom. “No mom. We are not having s*x. We are not even dating. We can't decide what to do next”, Frank said, being honest with his mother. Mom gave her son a smile. “Ok, I just had to ask to see what was going on. Thank you for being honest with me. You know you can come to me with anything”, mom said, getting up. She went to walk out the door when she turned around.

She had a confused face still. “Frank, then how do you know you like Gianna’s body without clothes”, she said, with her arms crossed over her chest. Frank looked down at the floor a little nervous to tell her how he knows about that. “We might have got dressed with the other still in the room. I know I should have not looked, but I had to know what side to put it on the paper for. Plus it is on her list too. She saw me too. Sorry, mom, I will not do it again”, Frank said, with his hands up. She gave him a smile, “It’s ok dear, we all are curious sometimes”, mom said, chuckling at her son. “Thanks, mom for understanding and not flipping out”, Frank said. Mom laughs a little bit. “Your welcome son, I only flipped out a bit in my head when I first found the paper. Well, I am going to finish doing the house. Behave ok”, mom said, pointing her finger at him.
