Chapter 15 - Enzo

802 Words
I have had men follow Ignacio Greenwich since I found out it was him who ordered his daughter to be beaten. Ava doesn’t want me to kill her father, and even though I am very tempted to ignore that request, I won’t. She is mine, and I plan for it to stay that way. I doubt she would forgive me for going against her only request in this situation. My men have mapped out all his comings and goings for the past 3 weeks. It doesn’t surprise me in the slightest that Ignacio is so predictable. He goes from home to work, to the casino or bar, to back home again on weekdays. During the weekend, he stays home until the evening and then goes to a strip club, where he then stumbles home drunk, usually with a woman, and a man once, on his arm. Didn’t know he swung that way, but who cares nowadays about that, really? It’s a Saturday night, and I plan on catching him before he goes in. I wait for an hour in the alley beside the strip club before I see him coming towards the back door. I grab him before he makes it there and drag him to the end, and throw him to the ground. “What the f**k?” he shouts while looking up at me. It’s dark, so he probably doesn’t recognise me. “Do you know who the f**k I am?” “Yes,” I growl. “Do you know who the f**k I am?” He flinches as the realisation of who I am comes to him. His eyebrows are so far up to his hairline, I don’t know where his hairline begins and his eyebrows end. “Why are you doing this?” he asks innocently. f*****g bastard doesn’t realise his daughter remembers everything. “You had Ava beaten so bad that she took 2 weeks to heal from her injuries. What kind of father does that to their daughter?” “No, I didn’t!” he shouts, and I laugh maniacally. “Next time you want someone hurt, don’t get someone who tells the victim the whole plan and who hired them.” He swears under his breath after the first punch lands. “She has stolen everything from me her whole life,” he splutters. “First my wife, then my work partners' affections, and now my biggest client.” I punch him again and again until he’s nearly passed out. “She never stole your wife. Your wife killed herself, probably trying to get away from you. Your work partners like her because she’s a good person and damn good at her job. And as for stealing your biggest client, I stole her. She witnessed something she shouldn’t have, and I threatened her into taking me as a client to protect my own interests.” I kick him in the stomach this time and continue, “So, now you see? She doesn’t deserve all the hate you give her. She knew no matter what she said, I’d come after you for what you did, and the only reason you aren’t dead right now is because she asked me not to kill you. Because, unlike the two of us, she’s an amazing person and wouldn’t want to be the reason her father ends up dead. No matter how much you deserve it.” He splutters blood over the ground, and I start walking away. “Take this as a warning, Ignacio. If you ever touch what’s mine again, no matter what your daughter says, I will f*****g kill you next time.” I get back home to Ava about an hour later. I had to calm down before I came home and jumped down someone's throat for no reason. I walk into the living room and find her curled up on the sofa and sleeping peacefully. It’s about 1 am, so she must have been waiting up for me. I lift her as easily as I can and carry her to our bed. She stirs a little as I lay her down and slightly opens one eye. “Enzo? What time is it?” she says sleepily. “It’s 1 am, gorgeous. Go back to sleep, baby.” “Oh, okay. Where were you, though?” “Don’t worry about that now.” I kiss her forehead lightly. “I’ll tell you everything in the morning.” “Okay. Night.” “Night, baby.” I grab her to me once I’m ready for bed and realise she has fallen asleep already, and I just breathe her in. No one will ever touch her again, and if they even so much as try, no matter who they are, I will kill every one of them.
