Chapter Twenty-Eight
Destiney
Hannah walks over to me and gives me a smile and a small, gentle hug and tells me she is going to take off and will collect my schoolwork from the last few days and the next couple days that I am here. Then as she walks out the door it occurs to me that she said for the last few days. But before I have a chance to ask, my mom comes out with words of her own.
“Oh Destiney, I’m so glad your awake. We missed you so much.”
“Thanks mom, but I was wondering, how long have I been out?”
They all look at each other like they don’t want to tell me, but I can tell by the look they give each other that they are hesitant to tell me.
