She followed Captain Hofer down to the dining-room where all the others were assembled, and she was startled to see Johnny there, sitting on the edge of the table. If he knows about the wallet, she thought, maybe he’ll tell Captain Hofer now. I just don’t feel like telling him yet. No, I don’t think Johnny’s a murderer. He does drink too much.
