Iris was armed with nothing but her claws, poison and fighting skills.
"I'd really love it if we did this quickly, I've got to return back home."
"Home is a place you'll never see again." Ava said trying to scare Iris.
Next thing she knew, Ava and Max attacked her at once. Charging at her with weapons and a slimy tongue.
Iris was doing quite well dodging their attacks but they wouldn't let her touch them because of her poison.
"Are you too scared to let me touch you?" Iris asked while nearly scratching Ava's tounge.
"Only a fool would see death and walk into it." Ava replied.
Iris smiled and shifted back, dodging Max's claw that was aimed for her back.
The fight carried on, Iris had still not broken a sweat but her opponents were already quite visibly irritated by Iris.
Iris would so generously coil around them in and try to strike them.
Iris ability as a serpent let's her move about in a more fluid and serpentine form even in her humanoid form.
"Stop with all the coiling. It's annoying." Max said slipping out of Iris's grip.
"No can't do. I'm currently fighting two people. I have to do something." Iris replied.
The fight was about to come to an end as Iris had already spotted her chance to strike both of them but fighting two people in a cramped space was not all that easy. While trying to dodge Max's kick, she missed Ava who instantly hit her in her essence core.
Iris groaned as she felt her essence flowing out of her.
"I'm sure Master Versax will be happy with us after this." Ava said with a smile.
In a flash Ava hit the wall from the impact of an unexpected kick.
"What the......" Ava exclaimed in pain as Max helped her up
"Hey little frog." Natasha waved standing on the window frame.
"Chameleon! I'm a chameleon." Ava retorted as she stood up.
"Are you alright sis?" Max asked.
"Frog, lizard. Same thing, only difference is your makeup sucks." Natasha said.
Ava growled. "I'll hit you so bad ...."
"Woulda loved to stay but I don't got time for that. catch you later." Natasha said after carrying Iris. She jumped out the window instantly.
"Damn it!" Ava hissed.
"Master Vexal Will not be happy."
"You're the one who let them escape." Max blamed.
"Keep talking and I'll cut both your tongues and balls." Natasha threatened with a menacing look and Max instantly shut up.
****** Greenwoods ******
Iris was still leaning on Natasha even after they'd made it to safety.
"You feel better now?" Natasha asked.
"Not really. My essence was hit and sucked out." Iris replied.
"Thank goodness I came when I did." Natasha said with a visible sigh.
They finally separated before sitting on the beautiful Greenwood grass
The silence between the two was deafening.
"Why'd you come back?" Iris asked trying not to focus all her attention on Natasha.
Natasha flushed red a bit.
"I ...... I wanted to apologise to you."
"Apologize? For....." Iris was cut short by Natasha's hands wrapped over her's.
"Don't pretend to forget it. I'm extremely sorry Iris, I didn't stop to think that maybe something happened and that person probably wasn't you."
Natasha said.
"I decided to trust my eyes alone and I ended up hurting you. Truth be told, I was extremely angry after hearing that you didn't like or want me, I was extremely heartbroken over hearing those words and it made me forget to check my surroundings for any clues but nothing hurt me more than you leaving."
Iris stared at Natasha before swallowing the anxiety twisted nut in her throat.
"I'd never say that to you Tasha. Not ever, even if I was drunk or under some sort of spell."
Natasha smiled a bit.
"I know and I should have thought about that but I didn't and I ended up hurting you. I'm really sorry Iris, two decades away from you and I thought I was going to lose it. Listen you can hit me if you'd like but don't leave again. For my sake?"
Iris giggled with tears running down her face as she sniffed.
"For you? Not for Greenwoods?"
Natasha nodded.
"I'm selfish this time. I'm asking you to stay for me."
Iris nodded before engulfing Natasha in a hug. A very tight but comforting hug as the two friends held each other for a long time.
Minutes later......
"Nathan, Brian???? I have a suprise for you guys. Something to blow your minds." Natasha said with excitement. she was back at their shared house
"Where'd you run off to? I don't believe you spent minutes in the public toilets... did you go to visit someone?" Brian asked.
"Maybe she went to see some human boys." Nathan suggested.
Natasha hit him lightly on his shoulder.
"I'm ignoring your comment Nathan. I went back to get us a friend."
Brian tilted his head slightly to the left.
"Friend? Since when did you have human friends? Nathan were you aware of this?"
Nathan replied in the negative.
"I'm as shocked as you are."
Natasha couldn't hold in her giggles and Immediately revealed Iris.
"Went back to get her."
Nathan had his mouth agape in shock, most expression of shock he'd ever shown.
"How'd you......"
"Did you force her with you? That's kidnapping Natasha." Brian reminded.
Iris instantly pulled Brian into another hug.
"I wasn't brought here under any force, instead Natasha saved me. Go ahead Natasha, tell them what happened."
Iris urged.
Natasha explained everything that happened in detail.
"All of that happened? How did I not catch a whiff of any of that?" Nathan questioned.
"They hid it well. I only suspected because I noticed them at the door. That's why I hurried us out then " Natasha explained.
Adoration filled in Nathan's and Brian's eyes as they stared at their friends.
"I guess it's all settled then." Brian said.
"Settled? What's that?" Iris questioned.
"After tonight, we leave to find the Zenix gem." Brian replied.
Iris was surprised.
"Already? I just arrived you know." Iris retorted.
"Nothing we can do about it. The seer probably already knows you are back." Natasha explained.
Iris rolled her eyes.
"Nosy old man. How's he doing?"
"Greenwoods dying hit him the most. He now spends all his time in the pagoda, trying to conserve energy." Nathan replied.
Iris sighed. "How bad is it?"
They all finally sank into the sitting room chairs before continuing to explain to Iris.
"It has killed off about 30% of Greenwoods residents and about 20% are sick." Nathan reported.
"Especially the weak races."
"Is it a curse, a sickness or what?" Iris asked.
"Not sure what it is but it has traces of magic in it." Nathan said.
"We have a ball tomorrow guys. " Natasha added.
Nathan pulled Iris to himself. He grabbed her hand and pulled her to himself before she could sit down.
"How was life in the human world?"
"Interesting actually. I learnt new things from..... mmhm.....??.
Iris was cut short by Nathan gently pulling her face in for a kiss.
Natasha and Brian stretched out on the couch as they watched the drama.
Nathan wrapped his hands around Iris's neck and slowly pulled her neck to his mouth.
"Twenty years Iris."
Nathan whispered. He gently licked Iris's neck before sinking his fangs into her neck.
Iris moaned softly as she gripped Nathan's shirt by the collar.
You'd think living with him for almost thirty years would let her be accustomed to having his fangs in her neck.
"Oi, don't hurt her. You seem to be taking more than needed." Natasha reprimanded.
Nathan licked Iris's neck clean before hugging her tightly.
"She and Brian were always shouting at me ever since you left."
Nathan sulked.
Iris tousled his hair with a smile.
"No one will shout at you anymore."
"You baby him so much Iris. What of meee?!" Brian pouted.
"You too, Brian." Iris added.
They all laughed heartily after all the display.
