Chapter 2

1447 Words
Nighttime in Nashville Town Blue Arena Iris, Ava and Max were having their biggest stage tonight after four years of producing music together. "It's crazy out there." Iris exclaimed peeking behind the stage curtains. "Exactly. Now let's go out there and make some noise!" Max supported. The three of them went on stage overflowing with energy and excitement. "Nashville! Are y'all ready for tonight?" Iris shouted into her microphone. The crowd cheered so loudly it nearly made the mythical creatures bleed their ears out. "Why the f**k is it so loud!" Nathan cursed trying to plug his ears. "Must be so hard being you." Brian chuckled as he handed ear plugs to Nathan. "You're just one word away from being unalived by me." Nathan threatened while plugging his ear like it would keep the screams from tearing his eardrums. "Do you think she can sense us?" Natasha asked "Unlikely. Our Aura suppression is impeccable." Brian said. "Brian is right. I can't even sense you guys." Nathan chipped in. Natasha sighed, something in her wished Iris could sense them but she knew what sort of risk that would be for their mission. The music show was quite good and enjoyable for them well except Nathan as he had to fight the urge to end everyone in the arena. Iris sighed with a smile after the successful end of the show. "Tonight is the start of something new." Iris said as she walked to her changing room. "Why is it so dark in here?" She asked once she swung the door open. "The show was awesome." Nathan's voice came through the shadows and the lights came back on. And there he stood, Nathan, in all his 6'4 glory. He hadn't aged in the last two decades, not even a wrinkle and it suddenly dawned on Iris that she had missed every inch of him as she pulled him into her arms, nearly choking him with a hug. Nathan smiled, hugging her back and patting her hair. "Did you miss me as well princess? " Brian questioned with a tinge of tease and jealousy. Iris broke the hug she was sharing with Nathan to look at Brian and boy was she shocked. "Brian? Is that you?" Iris asked in confusion but Brians smile assured her. He had changed, grown was the word. The Brian that Iris remembered was 5'8 which was her height but he's now suddenly towering over her. He was now 6'5 , even taller than Nathan plus his shirt was not even trying to hide the fact that he had bulked up in all the right places as they clung to him for dear life. "Did I change that much?" Brian asked. "No. I'm just surprised." Iris said and pulled him into a body crushing hug. Seconds after the hug Iris quickly scanned the room like she was searching for someone else. "Figured she wouldn't come." Iris muttered which was useless since they all heard her. "So what exactly brings you guys to Nashville?" "Greenwoods." Iris felt chills down her spine after hearing the voice. She didn't want to turn but her body betrayed her. Like it would die if it didn't lay eyes on the owner of the voice. Iris's Breath increased, the air changed slightly and the room was pindrop silent. She'd somehow grown even sexier in the last two decades. Iris sucked back her admiration and walked to her dressing table and began taking off her jewelry. "So what's this about Greenwoods?" "It's dieing." Natasha replied while the boys stood like extras in the room. The words made iris momentarily freeze. She shook it of and went back to taking of her jewelry. "Master Sorin said we could still help the land by finding the Zenix gem." Natasha continued "That's a myth. The gem doesn't exist." Iris voiced. She was wiping off her makeup now. "Doesn't mean we can't try. It's better than nothing." Brian said. Iris sighed. "How does any of this concern me? I no longer belong in Greenwoods." That sentence alone shredded their hearts. "The mission can't go on without you. Master Sorin said you were a necessity to the mission." Natasha continued, holding her emotions in. "Well I disagree. I'm living my best life right now, I'm not interested in saving some place that isn't me home." Iris spat "You can't say that. It's your home as well." Brian said. Iris rolled her eyes. Not because she was trying to be nonchalant but to push back the tears that threatened to run down her face. "Nathan won't you try to convince her?" Brian questioned but Nathan turned away from him. Iris scoffed. "If that's all, you can take your leave. My friends will soon be here." Before anyone could utter another word, Natasha sighed. "Let's go guys. we'll think of something else." "Like that? After coming all this way?" Brian asked. Even Nathan couldn't hide the shock in his eyes. "Yes. Can't convince someone who's already made up their mind." Natasha replied making Iris scoff. "Well good riddance!" Iris muttered. "I wish you guys luck." Iris wished before they left her room. She couldn't beat to let them leave without at least one nice word from her. Nothing else was said after Iris's 'good luck', the entire room was silent and like that, Natasha, Nathan and Brian left the room like they'd never even been there in the first place. Iris let out a breath she'd been holding for quite a while. She crashed on her dressing chair. "Do you think I don't want to go back home? I'll swallow my pride if that's what it'll take to save my home." Seconds later Ava and Max walked into the room and the ambience shifted a bit but Iris was too caught up in saving her home that she didn't realize it. "Did anything happen? You look quite sad even though this was our goal for this year. we even have great news to share with you." Ava said. Iris managed to draw her attention to what Ava was saying. "What good news?" Ava and Max had excited looks on their faces. "ZER studio's want to sign a four year contract with us!" Max replied, breaking the news to Iris. Iris was mine blown, ZER was a music studio she'd spent so many years trying to get into and now it was right before her. "What's wrong? You don't like the news?" Ava asked with worried expression. Iris smiled. "It's great news, really great news but I have to go back to my home town. There's been some..... The air became physically heavier, like some type of gas had seeped into the room, the amount of malice that weighed down in the air beared down on Iris. "You are not going anywhere." Ava's voice boomed out in the most despicable of ways. "What the f**k is going on here? Why are you....." Iris was cut short by Ava's chuckle. "Still don't understand what's going on here? Alright then, we'll show you." Max said. He and Ava instantly changed into their Crinos form. Ava was a Chameleon, her hair turned a sort of mix between green and black while her eyes were a mix of the blue sea and the vivid green forest. Her features were not Chameleon features were not quite vivid but she embodied some lizard features such as the long tongue, a tail and claws. Max on the other hand was a fox. He had orangish hair and liquid gold eyes with a little dribble of red in them. He had claws, a furry tail and a bit of fur around him. The air around Max had a very heavy seductive feel to it. "Understand now?" Ava questioned Iris. "No not really. You both just transformed into your half forms, I don't see how that's supposed to explain anything to me or did I miss something?" Iris replied, genuinely confused. "You really aren't the sharpest tool in the shed are you?" Ava sighed before taking an attack stance. Iris smiled "Now this i understand." Iris's usually dim eyes brightened and her scales appeared at the side of her eyes and on her arms, her claws elongated and she took a fighting stance. "So are you going to tell me why the both of you pretended to be my friends and even start a music band with me?" "Like we'd actually just....." Ava was cut short by Max's stupidity. "Master Vexal sent us to keep an eye on you until the day the Zenix gem would be mentioned." Max instantly answered. Iris smirked."Well that was easy." "You idiot." Ava groaned.
