His parents arrived unannounced.
Kieran was having breakfast when he heard the car in the driveway. Through the window, he saw them—Caspian stepping out first, silver-streaked hair impeccable despite the drive from Silverpeak. Selene followed, her sharp eyes already scanning the estate like she was cataloging every change since they'd last visited.
