Mira's POV
The call came from Garrett.
"Mira. Selene Ravencrest just showed up at the house. She's demanding to see you."
Mira's blood went cold. "What?"
"She says she has a right to see her granddaughter. That you can't keep Brielle from her family." Garrett's voice was tight with controlled anger. "I told her to leave. She's in the driveway refusing to go."
Mira was already grabbing her keys. "I'll be there in five minutes. Don't let her near Brielle."
She drove faster than she should have, hands white-knuckled on the wheel.
Selene Ravencrest. The woman who'd slapped her. Who'd kept her from Brielle for years. Who'd treated her like a breeding animal that occasionally needed feeding.
And now she wanted access to Brielle?
Over Mira's dead body.
