Mira's POV — The Clinic
The whispers started the moment she walked in.
Her assistant Jenny looked up from the reception desk, face carefully neutral. "Dr. Whitmore. Your first appointment cancelled. So did your second and third."
"Rescheduled?"
"Cancelled. Mrs. Patterson said she's transferring Lily's care to Dr. Chen in Millbrook." Jenny's voice dropped. "Dr. Whitmore, half your afternoon is gone too. They're all pack families."
Mira set down her bag, hands shaking. "How many patients do I have left today?"
"Four. All human families from outside pack territory."
