The mortgage payment was due in three days.
Valeblack stared at his bank account balance on the laptop screen. Four months of bills paid from savings. Two months left before he'd need to make decisions he didn't want to make.
Six months suspension without pay. He'd known that going in. Had accepted it as the cost of helping Mira.
But knowing and living were different things.
