**Valeblack's POV — Council Headquarters, One Month Later**
The reinstatement ceremony was formal. Traditional. Everything Valeblack had worked for over the past decade.
High Councilor Thane stood at the podium. "Councilman Valeblack Silverstone, you have completed your six-month suspension. The Council has reviewed your conduct during this period and finds you fit to resume your duties. Do you accept reinstatement to your seat?"
"I do."
"Then by the authority vested in me, I restore you to full Council membership effective immediately." Thane extended his hand. "Welcome back, Councilman."
The assembled Council members applauded. Polite. Professional. Valeblack shook hands with Thane, then with the other Councilors.
This was it. His career restored. His salary resumed.
