Brielle's POV
Mommy was making breakfast. Stella was in her bouncer making happy sounds.
Brielle had something important to ask.
"Mommy? When I start kindergarten, will Stella go too?"
Mommy smiled. "No, baby. Stella's too little for school. She'll stay home with me or Grandma Estelle."
"But I don't want to go without her."
"You'll only be gone for part of the day. Then you'll come home and tell her all about it."
Brielle thought about this. School. Without Stella. Without Mommy.
It made her stomach feel funny.
"When does school start?"
"Not for a while. But we should start looking at schools."
Valeblack looked up. "There's Oakwood Elementary—where most pack kids go. Or Riverside Academy—more diverse, less pack politics."
