I’ve been staring into Lachlan’s eyes for what feels like a lifetime. Locked in this moment, with the waves as our only music. He looks so handsome tonight. A slim-fit black suit stretches perfectly over his sculpted body. Somehow, he had a black satin tie that matched my dress, making us look like a real couple.
A real couple. That feels so bizarre to say.
He’d brought me out here in the hope that it would be another test. Another step towards my healing, but I realize as I stare into his eyes that they remind me so much of the goddamn ocean.
Their depth, their color, the untamed wildness that you can only see if you look close enough.
Staring into his eyes makes me feel like maybe the ocean isn’t so bad. Or maybe his ocean isn’t so bad.
“Do you believe all of that?”
