episode 7

finally our haircuts were finished we went back to where they lived it was like a little farm there was a field no animals but some chickens but they had a great technically in their backyard just kind of cool we went and got my new school papers and they told me I could start next year that this year was not going to affect me. later that night my dad came home and didn't realize I was still up we watched the movies and he asked if I wanted to go to the horse sale with him tomorrow I've never been I'd be a cool experience for me so I told him yeah maybe some bonding time especially if we're going to be living in the same house it would be nice to get to know who you're sharing a space with. he looked at me and smiled okay then 5:00 in the morning and we'll head there it's about a 2-hour Drive. I said okay so I went to my room where it was decked out and blue and black you could tell that they had no idea when it came to raising a teen. I move the sheets and curl them in between the comforter started drifting slowly to sleep. I woke up with an alarming noise in my ear I hit the snooze button and got up and started getting dressed. walk down the hallway and sat at the breakfast table where everyone is already eating. I sat down choked town the burned bacon and headed outside to the truck he had already hooked up the horse trailer I didn't realize he was actually thinking about getting animals we got in the car and headed there it was a long Quiet Drive and awkward. we got out and I looked at my dad he was like do you want to see the animals I was like yeah he's like I always like to scope out if there's any quality horses I looked at him and giggled and said yeah I'd like to look we run around looking at all these pretty horses but they seem kind of crazy they look like Mustangs we walked down the long fence and came to a little pen it was like a calf pen looked inside there was a scrawny little horse shaking barbed wire up his legs and no water he was so skinny I looked at my dad and said we have to take him home my dad looked at me and shocked that I said we he looked at me and nodded we then called the guy over there and decided to go ahead and see if he would just tell us the horse we bought him and one other horse that was actually rideable that look decent got in the truck after loading them and headed our way back to the farm. as we got there I was unloading the horses and putting them in the field so he didn't have to whenever I turned around there was somebody talking to my dad I could hear them their voice sounded different I couldn't put my finger on it maybe it sounded familiar or something I didn't push too much into it I just smiled waved and went into the house. my stepmom stop me hey we need to make up your birthday plans oh okay.
