  The rain tapped softly against the windowpane as Ryan sat at the edge of his bed, staring out into the gray, drizzly world beyond. It had been days since he'd felt like talking to anyone, especially his grandparents, who tried their best to make him comfortable here in Europe. But no matter how hard they tried, it wasn't home.   And he wasn't happy.   "Ryan, sweetheart," his grandmother's soft voice interrupted his thoughts, pulling him back to the moment.
