Chapter 4: Crossing Worlds – Into the Unknown

962 Words
The allure of traversing worlds was impossible to resist. Despite the risks, Han Yu couldn’t ignore the tantalizing possibilities: rare resources, magical treasures, and untold opportunities. “Fortune favors the bold. This is just the beginning,” he muttered, his gaze steely with determination. Before embarking on his first journey, Han Yu invested in a basic cloaking device. While it consumed a considerable amount of Wish Power, he couldn’t afford to take any chances. Without cloaking, the natural laws of a foreign world—the so-called Heavenly Dao—might detect him, leading to dire consequences. After ensuring the cloaking device was operational, Han Yu activated the World Gate. A swirling vortex of light appeared, pulsating with energy. “Alright, let’s see what’s out there,” Han Yu said, stepping into the portal. When Han Yu emerged, he found himself in a bustling urban street. The air was vibrant with activity, and the surroundings bore a striking resemblance to his original world. People rushed by, traffic hummed, and neon signs adorned the buildings. “Looks like a regular city... but something feels off,” Han Yu muttered as he surveyed the area. His eyes were drawn to a particular shop sign that read Uncle’s Antique Store. “Wait a minute... Could this be Jackie Chan Adventures?!” A mix of excitement and disbelief coursed through him. If he was in the world of Jackie Chan Adventures, it meant this wasn’t just an ordinary city—it was a place teeming with magic, powerful artifacts, and dangerous enemies. “This just got a whole lot more interesting,” Han Yu said, a smirk forming on his lips. After observing the area for a while, Han Yu made his way to a rival antique store not far from Uncle’s shop. Inside, he found a peculiar monkey figurine sitting on a dusty shelf. “How much for this little guy?” Han Yu asked, picking up the statue. The shopkeeper, an older man with a crafty smile, raised an eyebrow. “Fifty dollars. A rare find from the East.” “Fifty dollars? For this ugly thing? You’ve got to be kidding me,” Han Yu scoffed, managing to haggle the price down to thirty. The shopkeeper, unaware of the figurine’s latent power, handed it over without hesitation. But the figurine was only part of Han Yu’s objective. Using the subtle abilities of his Wish Power, he discreetly analyzed the shop’s inventory. Several items glowed faintly, indicating traces of magical energy. “So, this world does have artifacts worth collecting,” Han Yu thought, his interest piqued. Back in his Inner Heaven and Earth, Han Yu established a new department: the Multiversal Plunder Division. Its mission was straightforward: explore alternate worlds, gather resources, and acquire valuable artifacts to enhance the realm’s Reality Value. The division’s first assignment was to retrieve the Pan’ku Box, a pivotal artifact from Jackie Chan Adventures. This box was said to hold the key to releasing the Demon Sorcerers—ancient entities of immense power. Han Yu’s strategy was methodical. He used a sleep-inducing spell on Uncle and Jackie to ensure they wouldn’t interfere. Then, dressed in sleek black suits, his simulated citizens infiltrated Uncle’s antique shop under the cover of darkness. “Take everything magical. Copy the books, transcribe the scrolls, and leave no trace,” Han Yu ordered, ensuring the operation was precise and thorough. Two hours later, the team returned to the realm with the Pan’ku Box in tow. Han Yu examined the artifact closely, marveling at its intricate design and the aura of power it radiated. “This will definitely come in handy,” he said, carefully placing the box in his vault. Encouraged by his success, Han Yu turned his attention to his next target: the Eye of Aurora. The Eye of Aurora was a legendary artifact said to grant its wielder the power of instant teleportation. Han Yu’s research indicated that the artifact was hidden beneath the canals of Venice, a city he had long dreamed of visiting. Using the World Gate, Han Yu transported himself to Venice. The city’s beauty was breathtaking—the shimmering canals, the picturesque architecture, and the vibrant energy of the streets all exceeded his expectations. But Han Yu wasn’t here to sightsee. Beneath Venice’s romantic facade lay an ancient ruin where the Eye of Aurora had been buried. With the help of his simulated citizens, Han Yu navigated the labyrinthine passages of the ruin. Traps and puzzles filled the corridors, but his team’s efficiency ensured they overcame every obstacle. Finally, they reached the artifact. The Eye of Aurora was a magnificent necklace with a brilliant gemstone at its center. The gem pulsed faintly, as if alive. “This is it,” Han Yu said, carefully lifting the artifact. The interface confirmed the necklace’s abilities. By visualizing a location, the wearer could teleport there instantly, provided no magical barriers were in place. “This will save me a fortune on World Gate costs,” Han Yu said, a satisfied grin on his face. Returning to his Inner Heaven and Earth, Han Yu decided to expand his operations. Inspired by the artifacts he’d already acquired, he began constructing a Treasure Vault—a secure facility to house and display his growing collection. “Every great ruler needs a vault to showcase their spoils,” he mused, envisioning the elaborate displays he would create. As he reflected on his progress, Han Yu realized he was only scratching the surface of what was possible. With the resources of countless worlds at his fingertips, the future of his realm was limitless. “This is just the beginning,” he thought, his eyes gleaming with ambition.
