CHAPTER 4 Roshan's eyes scanned the paper, his face falling as he realized what it was – a pregnancy test result. His mind reeled, shock and confusion warring for dominance. "Mira, what...?" he began, his voice trailing off as he looked at her, searching for answers. "How did it happen?" he managed to ask, his mind racing with assumptions. Could it be that Mira was seeing someone else? Wasn't she in love with him as he was with her? Mira's eyes filled with tears, and she took a deep breath before speaking. "It happened a few days ago," she whispered, her voice cracking. "I was ambushed on my way home from work. "They...they r***d me." She cried out, burying her face in her palms. Roshan's world came crashing down around him. He felt like he'd been punched in the gut, his breath was knocked out of him. He stared at Mira, his eyes wide with shock and horror. "Mira, don't cry," he whispered, his voice soft and soothing. "Everything will be okay." But Mira's sobs intensified, her body trembling with each ragged breath. She pushed Roshan away, her eyes blazing with a mixture of anger and desperation. "How will everything be okay?" she yelled, her voice hoarse from crying. "I've lost everything!" My pride, my dignity... and now I'm stuck with this... this..." She gestured to her stomach, her face contorted in anguish. Roshan's eyes dropped, his face pale with shock. He opened his mouth to speak, but Mira cut him off, her words spilling out in a torrent of anger and fear. "Who will take care of me now? Who will marry me with a child? I'm ruined, Roshan! "Completely and utterly ruined!" She yelled, pulling her hair violently. Roshan's face twisted in a mixture of anger and desperation as he yelled, "I will take care of you, Mira! I will marry you, and we will raise this child together!" The room fell silent, the only sound being Mira's ragged breathing. She stared at Roshan, her eyes wide with shock and confusion. "Why?" she whispered, her voice barely audible. "Why would you do that?" Roshan's face softened, and he took a step closer to Mira. "Because I love you," he said, his voice filled with conviction. "I don't care about what happened." I don't care about the past. All I care about is you, and our future together." Mira's eyes searched Roshan's face, looking for any sign of doubt or hesitation. But all she saw was sincerity and determination. Roshan opened his arms, and Mira stepped into them, letting out a sob as he wrapped his hands around her. As Roshan's words washed over her, Mira felt a weight lift off her shoulders. She felt like she could breathe again, like the darkness that had threatened to consume her was finally receding. Roshan's eyes locked onto hers, filled with a deep sincerity. "I mean it, Mira," he said, his voice soft but firm. "I'll be here for you, no matter what." Mira's eyes searched Roshan's face, looking for any sign of doubt or hesitation. But all she saw was conviction and determination. She felt a sense of relief wash over her, followed by a deep gratitude. "Thank you, Roshan," she whispered, her voice trembling. Roshan's face softened, and he pulled Mira into a gentle hug. "You don't have to thank me," he whispered. "I'm just glad I can be here for you." As they hugged, Mira felt a sense of peace settle over her. She knew that she still had a long and difficult road ahead of her, but with Roshan by her side, she felt like she could face anything. Roshan held her for a long time, his arms wrapped tightly around her. Mira felt safe and protected in his embrace, like nothing could ever hurt her again. Finally, Roshan pulled back and looked at Mira, his eyes searching hers. "We'll get through this together, okay?" he said, his voice soft but firm. Mira nodded, feeling a sense of determination rise up in her. She knew that she had a long and difficult journey ahead of her, but with Roshan by her side, she felt like she could overcome anything. Together, they sat down on the couch, holding hands and looking towards the future. Mira knew that it wouldn't be easy, but she was ready to face whatever came next, as long as Roshan was by her side.
