Chapter Thirty
PAM woke me up late the next day. I leapt out of bed as panic surged through me, but the computer spoke calmly.
“Lanni Roberts, your alarm was manually reset by Liaison of Incorporation Outreach Kinley Leigh.”
I sank down onto my bed, trying to convince my heart not to explode out of my chest.
“A schedule adjustment has been added for Lanni Roberts,” PAM kept talking. “There are two messages waiting for Lanni Roberts.”
“PAM, you’re annoying in the morning.” Mari threw her pillow at the computer screen.
“At least it’s not my fault I slept through training.” I stood back up and went to the computer on the wall.
