Chapter Eight I slipped down the hall to Harper’s room as soon as I’d finally gotten Mari to fall asleep. I tapped on her door, glancing up and down the hall, just waiting for one of the four doors that wasn’t Harper’s or mine to swing open and have someone shout they were calling the Dome Guard. Technically, I was out after the new curfew for students, but I hadn’t left the building where I lived. I tried to promise myself I’d be able to plead ignorance if the Dome Guard came for me. I tapped on Harper’s door a little louder. “Harper, it’s Lanni.” Seconds ticked past. I didn’t hear any noise from inside her room.
