The leading raft waited that other boats reached it, and then they rushed the entrance to the side branch by dint of rowing. The first stretch was similar in appearance to the underground river they were coming through, but much narrower. The divisions between the three arches disappeared later and the resulting runway was almost half of that. Progress was achieved by rowing with energy and they noticed that as they advanced the runway was turning progressively narrower and therefore the current stronger, having to evacuate the same volume of liquid by one smaller cross section. The raft run by Miguel had moved to the front, since this section was also new for all, even for Teresa.
