Chapter 2 cont. -partial

Caspian I couldn't be away for long. Her touch was electric. Her scent. Enticing. I regretfully left her with the watch of Eve. I was grateful Sonya was there but I still don't trust Eve. Following Everette to Landon's packhouse I tried to focus. And failed. Auroras grandmother thankfully filled us in on the covens she was affiliated with and her knowledge on the dynamics nearby. She said as for her we had her whenever we needed but she said when Auroras birthday came she needed a few days. What that meant I wasn't sure. A party? I knew witches held birthdays and the moons high but I never needed to pay much attention till now. My mate. My sweet mate. My heart leapt over the idea of her. The bond was too compelling. I knew I needed to cool my jets but my mind was filled with her and her alone. Ugh. "We need a plan. There's something we aren't seeing. Two humans are dead now…" my head snapped into the conversation and I did everything to put Aurora on the backbones for just a moment. "Do you think their in affiliation with Vampires? " My fathers eyes looked to Landons. "Have you ever had any run ins?" "No," Landon began. "They've always stuck to the city. Why would they come here?" "We don't know. But we will get to the bottom of this." My father said. Landons grim face nodded. "We have a few witches on our side. I think we will need their help if Humans are in danger. We will have Everette and Caspian go track. Do you have any good hunting men?" Landon sadly shook his head. "We've never had to train for anything like this." Father sighed but nodded with understanding. "We are here to help." I stated. Calm was my form of consolation. I felt for the guy. "We will need you to show the boys where it happened. And keep an undercover eyes. We don't know who or what can be trusted around here." Father told us as we were out of earshot of Landon's pack. "All of this is really strange. I'll need you boys to really be careful. I don't have a good feeling." We both nodded as father handed us a GPS and coordinates. "Go." Without another thought I rolled the paper up to slip into my anklet. Me and Everette shifted, after leaving our clothing in a pile and began the hunt. Me and Amire were one and the same. Catching the cent of the bodies was easy. You don't miss the smell of death. Once finding the gore, we could tell it was a definite animalistic attack from the scene. Everett's big bodied wolf sniffed deeper for anything, other. With a yip of excitement he took off with me right behind him. We got a hit of an unfamiliar scent. Hoping it was the rogues and hoping that this could be over. We followed it through some hills towards seecha and closer to the university. I began to get a nagging feeling as the scent brought me around the school and we circled confused. It just went dead. Everette gave frustrated snarls at the ground as we marked the coordinates in our minds and mind linked father to tell him our location so he could pinpoint it as we went back to our clothes. "Why do you think that?" I asked. Worry knotted my gut up slightly. I worried for Aurora. I knew what she had going on today as her gran filled us in because she knew what me and father knew. She had to. But she also used to be around father when they were young. And that was secret I and Everette where privy to. We raced home after dressing and all I could think about was my mate. I kept telling myself this was her decision too but at the same time my mind and soul wouldn't shut up. I didn't get any sleep and by 7:40 a.m I crept up to her window and crouched over to peek into her window. She looked like an Angel, drooling in her sleep. A smile touched my lips as she snored softly, her hair a beautiful mess. Her shirt twisted up to show her midriff and curves. I hesitated for a second but Amire groaned for me to slip the window open with a click. Her eyes shot open as I looked down at her. Hungry for her. "What in the bloody hell are you doing here? My gran will turn you into a toad! Go!" She yelled jumping up so fast she almost took me out. I was impatient. The full moon was close and Amire didn't want to play games anymore. "Kitten, enough." She tried shoving at me and I swiftly caught her hands in my one and yanked them behind me. Our chests touching. A growl escaped my lips. She whimpered and the noise sent my into a frenzied of desire. "I waited a day. Even tried to be nice and slow last night. Aurora I can't wait." I snarled out.. "Caspian. N-not now." I nipped her ear in annoyance. Mine, mine, mine. Fuck. The lights flickered with her emotions came more waves of her magic came and it made my ears ring with delight. I loved it. "N-no." She whimpered as I had my nose buried in her hair. Her scent engulfing me. I heard the wind pick up with her pulse. I wanted to mark her. To claim her and before I could make one more move I heard her gran coming upstairs. Snapping out of it I quickly put her back down and swiftly was out the window shutting it behind me. My body was high with her. With her scent and intoxicating green eyes. My mate. Amire was singing with joy, at how far we got with Aurora today. Until next time, my love.
