Emily watched Geoffrey head off to the restrooms. She didn’t know what she’d been expecting from him, but it wasn’t this.
His response instead made her feel bad about what she had done. Had it been mean and childish of her? She wasn’t typically like this, but something about Geoffrey just brought out this response from her.
She brushed the guilt away from her mind. Oh well, someone had to do it, and it might end up being a good experience for him to take care of something that regular folks were used to doing.
Emily heard the sound of the main doors open, and she turned in that direction. Two men were rolling in a very large Christmas tree. She’d never seen one this size in person before. As they neared her, she did a double take.
