Grace's POV. I stood at the edge of the treeline, hidden by the dense shadows of the canopy above, just watching Rhyder and Tate together. Rhyder was busy carving something from a piece a wood, explaining the process to Tate as he watched with mesmerized interest. I remembered all the intriquite little figurines that Rhyder carved for me when we were still together - tokens of his love that he used to surprise me with. At one point, they were my most priced possessions. But when I ran, I didn't even think to take a single one of them with me. I left all of them behind because I didn't want to be reminded of what I had lost. Over the years, I had become so obsessed with how much I had been hurt by Rhyder - so focused on the betrayal I felt that I had forgotten about all the good time
