Chapter 4 — The Spellbound Party

1423 Words
In the Other side of the world. Things were totally different. The spiritual controlled the physical. The witches were casting their spells on humans. Demons possessing their preys. "Daddy, let me quickly get your drugs. I'll be back shortly, okay?" Bruce Ashcroft—the son of the white god said leaving for the room. It was an old house filled with herbal essences, white chant books, and spell books. "Okay, my son" Riven Ashcroft—the white god responded. He was the oldest god in the ancient time. He had lived for decades. He was known to be a strong seer, jean and witch—who could easily manipulate and cast spells on mortals. He has been down for years. He knew it was time for him to return to his maker, so as to make way for the new white god—whom only him knew about—it was Aira. As his son left for the room, he had a strong and long cough. Not long after, he fell to the ground and let his last breath. There was lightning and thunderstorms in the cloud. Everywhere suddenly became dark. The witches, jeans and demons knew something had happened either in the land of the living or in the spiritual realm. "How're you" Her dad responded with a warmth smile. "My darling, you're looking good" her mum complimented. "Thank you mummy. I'm living now" Nya added opening the door. "Be back on time okay?" Her mum responded. "Okay." Nya said as she left and closed the door behind her. At the Jeph's house. The party had begun but Nya and her crew were yet to join them. This got Jeph and George wondering. They stood outside the building behind Jeph's car. "What's all this! I thought you said there will be shawties." George said in anger. "They should be on their way." Jeph added trying to calm him. Just then, the girls drove in, all in one car. "They are here" Jeph said. They exchanged greetings with the girls. Hailed them. Before going inside for the party. Nya and her girls went to one corner of the building for their meeting before joining the party—so as to design their plans that night in the party room. "Sisters" Nya began as they gathered. "Yes, sister" they chorused. "I overhead my dad say the white god is dead." She continued. "What? For real?" They shouted in amazement. "Yes!!" Nya exclaimed with beaming smiles on her face. "Are you joking?" Anna asked. Her mouth wide open, which later gave out a smile. "No." She replied. "He said the window is open, and you know what that means." She continued. "Now, it's time to show them what it means to oppose us right." She added expecting a positive response. "Yes!!!" They exclaimed in chorus. "Let's party" she said and they left to the party room where every other person was seated. As they stepped in. Nya threw a glass of wine on the floor and stepped on it. "I just broke something." She said covering her mouth. Jeph rushed her. But was held back by his friend—George "Your heart, sable?" She added not expecting a response from him. Sable Hart was her classmate. He was campaigning for a position—same position Nya aspired for. They became opponents. Jeph approached her. "Look, you can't just come to my house to mess..." He was cut short by a spell Nya casted on him immediately. "Can you move?" Anna said dragging him back to his position. Everyone was shocked. They couldn't believe what they saw. There were whispers and noise everywhere. Nya cast a spell on Sable and he became motionless. He froze. She had him under her control. "Tonight is not the night and we have come here to let you know that, whether you like it or not. I, Nya, l will and l must win this election." Nya began with a firm warning face. "And nothing can come between that, okay?" She added pointing a mocking finger at Sable whom she had freeze. They left the room. Immediately, Sable regained his consciousness. He had no idea what had just happened. "Nya! Nya!" Greg who had feelings for Nya called out to her just as she was leaving the compound with her girls. "I have been inside waiting for you. You didn't come checking on me" He said innocently. The girls gave a mocking laughter which was loud. "Darling, you should have waited at the door." She replied. Nya said some chants on Greg. Chants she had learnt from the mysterious spell book when she was 15. She casted the spell on Greg and Greg immediately was under her control. "Greg, l want you to pull your shirt and wipe my feet." She said. She was trying to check if her spell was truly working. Greg did as instructed and the rest of the girls burst out laughing. Jeph came outside and saw what was happening. He tried calling him back to his senses but before he could blink an eye, Greg gave him a sound slap which got the girls laughing and they left. Jeph couldn't believe what had just happened. He knew Nya and her girls were up to something. But that, he couldn't place. After the party that night. Everyone retired to the various rooms in Jeph's house. Sable went to a small yet condusive room with her sister—Ivana. "Wait, What happened there. Why was l standing and also of a sudden everywhere got blacked out." Sable said in curiousity. "Like l said earlier, maybe it's the election tension. Nothing serious. Don't overthink it." Ivana said, giving him hope and assurance. "I doubt" he replied. "Just go to bed okay." She responded. So that was Nya. Well, I'll get to see more of her. Ivana said to herself. She was just new to the school. When Bruce was back with the drugs and a cup of water. He didn't believe his eyes. He screamed. He shouted. But the white god was already gone to meet his maker for good. In the mortal world. Things seemed different. The weather. The atmosphere. The environment. Everything told something about the death of the old white god. "The old white god is dead" Kael Morwen said whispering to his wife. He was the Father of Nya Morwen—Aira's Classmate. They all belonged to the spiritual realm. He was a Time Traveller. Nya and her mother were white witches. His wife—Ariana Morwen gave him a shocking look. Her mouth wide. She couldn't believe her ears. "What??" She said in shock of the news. "Yes" Her husband responded. Just then, Nya was about walking down the staircase to Jeph's night party when she overheard the news. She hid at the corner to eavesdrop them. "We have to look for a new one." Kael continued. "So pending that time, everybody needs to be careful. Very careful. Because the windows and doors are opened and anyone could use their power and we won't be able to trace it." He added. "But how soon are we getting this new god." His wife added with much precision. "The council of Time Travellers have not decided" he said with an opposing nod. "But keep an eye on our daughter, Nya. That's where my fear lies. He added holding his right ear. "A witch without a god is out of control" Ariana added with a facial expression that told bitterness. "Yes, but we have to be very careful." He concluded. "Dad!" Nya said in a loud and tone stepping down the staircase. She already had gotten the information she needed to execute her plans. She wouldn't hesitate on chasing after whosoever the new white god was. But one thing she strongly believed was, the white god would surface soon. Nya’s eyes gleamed with determination, her mind already racing through the possibilities. If the white god’s power was unclaimed, then the new one—Aira—was vulnerable. And Nya intended to strike first. She felt a sudden chill crawl up her spine, a pulse of energy she couldn’t ignore. The air around her thickened, shadows twisting unnaturally, whispering in voices only she could hear. From the corner of her eye, a figure appeared—familiar yet impossible—floating above the staircase. Its presence radiated power that rivaled even the white god. Nya froze, her heartbeat quickening. “So… you are the one they call Aira?”
