Chapter 15

The whole world stopped. Somewhere in China, water stopped falling from the fountain, somewhere in Denmark a woman stopped slipping. Everywhere the time stopped. For everyone. Besides her.

Josephine stood in front of Ling and Anna. They both stopped in the middle of the fight. Ling’s hands were covered in claws. His wolf side showing.

Anna was ready to cast some spell and Josephine looked at this confused. She didn’t know what was going on. Suddenly she heard it. Someone approaching her. Josie turned around and saw a tall man approach. He looked to be around seventies but Josephine knew it was just changed appearance so humans won’t find out who he was. Then she heard a voice, inside her head.

“Dearest child. Welcome. I couldn’t wait to meet you.”

“Who are you? What did you do?”

“What did I do?” He laughed. “This whole thing is your doing. You are the one, powerful enough to stop and start time. I don’t anything to do with it. However thank you for that. Without it I wouldn’t be able to visit and meet you. To answer your question about who am I? Mhhh…” the man pretended to think carefully.

“Why won’t I show you?”

And that’s how Josephine got stuck in the past and time started to flow again.

Hei looked around confused. Josephine wasn’t there. He stopped fighting which also made Anna to stop.

“Where is she?!” He shouted but Anna was as confused as he was.

Josephine saw a small child being hidden somewhere in the deep forest. A beautiful woman hugging the child what was probably her last time seeing him. Little boy started crying, feeling his mother’s pain. Poor boy. She thought. Then the scene changed. Josephine saw a man, wearing clothes from ancient China. Seating on the throne. She recognized him. The same man she spoke to just few moments ago. Then the thought hit her. Jade Emperor the creator of the world from Chinese mythology but how?”

Josephine woke up in her own bed. Ling was next to her. She didn’t even question how he manage to get there.

“Oh thank Goodness you are alright. I was worried.”

“What happened?”

“You disappeared for few seconds and then you appeared again.”

“What happened between you and Anna?”

“I thought she was hurting you.”

“Ling….”

“Yes?”

“You are Chinese right?”

“Yes why are you asking?”

“Tell me the story of the Jade Emperor.”
