Victoria Came to See Me

452 Words
Derek POV My name is Derek. I have always enjoyed doing business since I was young. From mischief and roughhousing in my younger days to making a fortune, I currently hold four different identities. The first identity is being the banker in a private poker game. The second identity is owning a pawnshop. The third identity is a loan shark who lends money at high interest rates. The fourth identity is being the owner of a company that produces adult films. "Boss, there's a young lady here to see you." Jason knocked on the door and informed me. "What's her name?" I asked. "Victoria." "Let her in." Jason closed the door and left. 5 minutes later, there was another knock on the door. I said, "Come in," and the door opened. Victoria walked in. I was seated at my desk, back facing the entrance, with a cigarette in my mouth, looking out the wide floor-to-ceiling window. I said, "Vickie, what brings you here?" I knew perfectly well why she was here, concerning her boyfriend's $10K debt to me. However, I wanted her to speak first, to see how she would begin the conversation. "You already know why I'm here, about my boyfriend owing you $10K." "Yes, go on. I'm listening." "I have two ways to repay it, you choose one." "Alright." "Give me 10 days to gather the money, and I'll pay you back in full then." "What's the second option?" I asked. "If we spend one night together, consider the $10K debt settled." ... I chuckled after hearing her proposal. "You must have thought I would choose the second option, considering I'm not short of money..." I paused, not continuing. Victoria looked at me with a puzzled expression, unable to understand my intentions. One reason was because she found my direct way of speaking surprising, and the other reason was that she seemed unsure if I would reject her proposition of a one-night stand. "One night for $10K might be acceptable, but I don't prefer to do things this way." "I don't need you to tempt me; if I'm interested in playing along, I'll bring it up myself. The $10K is on me if that happens; there's no need for you to propose it." "You've got the wrong person. That's why I'm choosing the first option. Also, 10 days is too long; today was the original deadline, and I can extend it to 7 days. If the money isn't in my hands by then, I'll have someone come to take his jade pendant." I finished speaking in one breath, and Victoria's face turned pale upon hearing it. In my mind, I couldn't help but smirk; she was no match for me.
