Consequences

Third Person POV     Michael stood beside Helena and Gabriel as they looked at the rose.  Half of the petals were now black, Alora was becoming dark and there was nothing they could do to stop it.  Helena sobbed as she looked at it.  Gabriel comforted her, "Darling we knew she was born with potential for great darkness, it is the prophesy.  We could do nothing to change this.  She now has to choose on her own what her path may be."     "We failed her as parents Gabriel.  We were supposed to prepare her for this so she would make better choices.  She is falling for the Prince of Darkness himself!  We are not even allowed to advise her or warn her.  What have we gotten her into?  Her future is ruined!"     Michael spoke, "Gabriel, there is a cost for every choice we make as we know.  There is a price to pay for Alora's choices and someone must pay."  "Does she not pay the price for her own choices?"  "Did the Master not pay for his people's?"     Gabriel suddenly looked over at his wife and his eyes grew wide, "Who pays the price?"  "Someone whose love cannot be matched.  Someone who loves her unconditionally and completely."  Helena's face paled as realization hit her, "It is me isn't it?"     Michael nodded as he looked down at the ground in reverence, "You will be given to the Dark Lord as a slave until he feels like the debt has been paid.  Since she is partially his now, it is up to him how long the punishment will last.  This was the Master's stipulation, one must take the child's burdens upon themselves.  This is the punishment that will affect Alora the most and make her return to the Light.  She will see the error in her ways."     Helena nodded, "If it will one day bring my daughter back to the light, I will do it.  I will be the sacrifice."  "The time is now, once the rose is half black the transfer must be completed to the City of Darkness.  I will have Apollo escort you as it is not my time yet."     Helena had tears falling from her eyes as she embraced Gabriel.  She released him as Michael summoned Apollo.  He had a grim expression as Michael lifted the golden rod and opened the pathway to the City of Darkness.  As they walked to the large black gates Apollo spoke, "I tried to warn her, I tried to tell her there was darkness in her midst.  She didn't listen, she fell for him instead."       Helena looked at him with sympathy, "She is not too far gone Apollo.  She can still be saved.  This will al be fixed in the end."  Suddenly Damion was at the gate, "Ah, my new housekeeper is here.  I have been expecting you."  Helena shivered as she felt the darkness radiating off of him.  Apollo narrowed his eyes.  "She will not be here for long, good will win this battle Lord Damion."       "The fact that you called me Lord tells me I am already winning this battle.  If I was not you wouldn't be standing at my gate now would you?"  The gates opened allowing Helena to enter in as she squared her shoulders and held her head high and walked into her destiny. ***     Alora and Draven went back to her dorm room that night.  They watched a movie that had couples having s*x and Alora suddenly felt uncomfortable.  She wanted that with Drave, she wanted to feel him all over her.  She didn't understand this desire and why she felt this way.  She fell asleep in his arms that night.        The next morning she woke up to her phone buzzing.  She had texts on her phone from Alice asking if she had seen the news yet.  She clicked on the news icon on her phone to see what all the fuss was.  The headlines read, Swarms of Locust Destroy Crops Across the World, Bugs Destroying our Food Supply and Killing Live Stock, Mysterious Illness Appearing Across the Globe-Thousands Hospitalized.  She gasped and placed her hand over her mouth.  She couldn't believe what she was reading.  Locust had not been an issue in thousands of years and now they were destroying food sources across the world.  Why were so many people suddenly sick?     Draven stirred beside her and she tip toed out of the room to make a call.  She called her mother's number, but her father answered.  "Father, where is Mother?  Have you seen what is happening on the earth?  Why is this happening Father?"  "Your mother is gone Alora."  "Where is she Father?"  "I cannot tell you child, I have to follow the orders to reveal nothing to you. I love you."  The line clicked as tears began to fall on her cheeks.     She went back to the room and changed her clothes and left a note for Draven telling him she had a family emergency and she would be back tonight.  She found an empty meadow and teleported herself to the Golden Gates at the City of Light.  Two guards stood by and stopped her from entering, "It's me, Alora, can I not enter?"  The men said nothing until Apollo appeared. "Apollo!  I need to know what has happened to my mother!  What has happened to her?"  Apollo's face was stone as he spoke, "Alora I cannot give you that information nor can I allow you entry into the city.  The rose has darkened and you are no longer permitted to enter when you are a citizen of both the City of Light and City of Darkness.  You must go."     Alora stepped back and suddenly felt anger rise in her, "How dare you tell me I cannot enter!  I am the daughter of Gabriel and Helena!  You will not deny me entry into my home!"  "I am truly sorry Alora, you should make better choices and this would not have to happen."  Before she knew what was happening, she raised her hand and Apollo flew back into the gates.  He stood up, his injuries quickly healing, "You see what you've become?!  You are one of them now Alora!  You would hurt your own kind! Your soulmate!"  His eyes flashed with heartbreak as he looked at her.  "Go now before I have to call your master to come take you."  He walked back into the gates with his shoulders slumped over in defeat.  He loved her, truly loved her and she had betrayed him in every way.  Alora felt anger as her eyes changed to red, she would not let this go and she would never forgive Apollo for this.
