CHAPTER 1

1697 Words
ALYSSA A car accident, that's what completely changed my life in such a short time. I found refuge in the solitude of the tall, dense trees of the forest, a home I call my own. My wooden cabin, surrounded by wild nature, serves as a silent witness to my tears and longing a place where I seek solace in the shadows of the trees. Today marks exactly three months since the fateful car accident that took my parents and my beloved boyfriend, leaving me as the sole survivor on a day that should have been a celebration, my birthday. I lost all the most important people in my life in one horrible night. I lost my boyfriend, and we were engaged at that time. Furthermore, I still have the ring he gave me just a few days before he died. The wind whispers through the leaves of the trees, as if sharing the sorrow I carry with me. My cabin seems small and fragile, lost in the vastness of the forest. Here I am, with swollen eyes from crying, sitting on the floor, embracing my knees, lost in dark thoughts. "I miss all of you so much. Every night, I think about what happened, and I should be dead like you...", I whisper, looking into the darkness of the night, tears streaming down my face incessantly. I feel an emptiness within me, a void that no amount of tall trees or rustling leaves can fill. I recall the last time I saw the smiling faces of my parents and the warm laughter of my boyfriend. The memory of that fateful day is etched in my mind like a ghost that haunts me constantly. My cabin is immersed in a soft gloom, and I look through the window towards the night sky. A single star shines brightly, standing out against the darkness. A lone tear escapes my eyes, tracing a path down my face before getting lost in the folds of sorrow. I wonder if my loved ones are there, somewhere beyond the stars, watching over me. I long for answers and for any sign that they are still present in my life in some way. The pain of loss is too strong to bear alone, and the surrounding forest offers a silent echo to my lament. I am alone now, without family and friends to help me through such a difficult time. I close my eyes, trying to push away the painful images haunting my mind. My cabin is now my sanctuary, an attempt to escape the memories that haunt me in the dark corners of the city. In nature, I seek relief a way to reconnect with myself and those I've lost. The loneliness in the forest offers a peculiar tranquility but also intensifies the longing. I can almost hear the absent voices of my loved ones floating among the trees. It seems like the forest itself whispers stories of love and loss, sharing the emotional burden I carry. The night progresses, but I remain immersed in my emotions. The star continues to shine in the sky, as if a silent witness to my pain. I wish I could hug my parents once more and hear my boyfriend's laughter echoing through the cabin corridors. But all that remains are memories, clinging to me like persistent shadows. As the night continues, I sit there, lost in my sadness but also finding comfort in the serenity of the forest. The star continues to shine, a distant light illuminating the darkness of my soul, offering a small spark of hope amid the gloom. And so I weep in the forest, seeking solace in the shadows of tall trees and the solitary star witnessing my grieving journey. My cabin now holds not only my tears, but also the resilience of a soul struggling to find light amid the darkness of loss. With many tears in my eyes, I touch my finger, feeling the engagement ring on my hand. He was the perfect man; he used to work hard in the city, but he always had time for me. We were going to have a beautiful life together. I had a flower shop on the best street in town, and Peter and I were going to get married and buy a big house for our future children, but none of that can happen anymore. Completely overwhelmed by the solitude of the forest, I find myself once again lost in my tumultuous emotions. The night is calm, and the stars shine like distant beacons in the night sky. Among them, one stands out as the brightest, as if the silent guardian of dark nights. With eyes swollen from tears, I gaze at the shining star, seeking solace in the depths of the universe. With a choked voice, I whisper intimate words to the star, a silent plea for everything to get better in my life. I can no longer bear the overwhelming weight of my emotions alone. "Dear star, guide me beyond this darkness. I can't endure all of this on my own anymore. Please make the shadows and intense pain disappear from my life. Bring something good to me, please. I'm begging, Star. Everyone I loved most in my life is gone, and I feel so alone. Please, listen to me; I don't want to feel this way anymore...", I whisper, my vision blurred by tears. I keep talking to the star as if it can hear me. When I was 5 years old, I used to hear my mother tell stories about the brightest stars in the sky and how they could listen to our wishes. But I grew up, and I know stars can't grant wishes. With closed eyes, tears silently flow down my face as I continue talking about the burden of my losses. Believing in the power of words directed at the bright star, I plead for relief and a sign of hope to illuminate my path. Upon opening my eyes again, the night sky remains impassive, but something within me seems to have changed. A silent determination envelops me, and I decide to walk through the forest, delving into the darkness that surrounds my cabin. Twilight gives way to night as I return to the cabin. With tired steps, I throw myself onto the bed, turning off the lights to embrace the darkness. In the silence that envelops the cabin, I let the tears overcome me again, my sobs echoing on the wooden walls. "Come back to me. I want you all to come back to me...", I whisper, crying and placing Peter's ring over my heart. While I grapple with my feelings, a sudden, loud noise interrupts the night's stillness. I sit up abruptly, blinking my eyes rapidly, realizing that I wasn't imagining things, I really heard a very frightening noise, and this has never happened before. I live alone in a cabin in the forest, and something dangerous might be nearby right now. Furthermore, I sit on the bed, looking at the forest beyond the window of my room. A mysterious glow illuminates the trees, casting dancing shadows in the darkness. Curious and fearful, I slide out of bed, my eyes fixed on the light spreading through the forest. My heart beats faster inside my chest as I try to discern the origin of that intriguing glow. As I approach the window, I notice something extraordinary. In the center of the forest, a celestial presence seems to hover, radiating a gentle light that filters through the branches of the trees. I can't believe what I'm seeing now; I feel intrigued and hesitant. I contemplate the silent spectacle, wondering if the brightest star in the sky somehow responded to my prayers. The night, which started so dark, now turns into a scene of mystery and possibility. I remain there, staring at the unexpected show before my eyes, wondering if, somehow, this light is a gift from the universe in response to my pleas. The mystery of the night is far from being solved, but amid the uncertainties, a spark of hope begins to shine in my wounded soul. The forest at this moment seems silent and impenetrable, and I notice something strange. The mysterious light illuminating the trees begins to fade slowly, leaving me confused and restless. I know I shouldn't be thinking about doing this, but I'll never be calm if something is happening in the forest. So, I decide to investigate the phenomenon, even if it means confronting the unknown in the darkness. With a nervous sigh, I open a drawer in the cabin, finding a flashlight. The dim light of the flashlight trembles in my hands as I contemplate the darkness that stretches beyond the wooden walls. Uncertainty and fear surround me as the awareness of being a girl alone in a dark forest weighs on my shoulders. As I step out of the cabin, I'm greeted by the cold wind whispering through the trees, creating a melancholic murmur. The flashlight illuminates only a small radius in front of me, highlighting dancing shadows on the fallen leaves. Cautiously, I walk, my steps echoing in the silent night. I swing the flashlight from side to side, looking in all directions, as the darkness seems to swallow every beam of light. My heart beats fast, and fear grows within me as my vivid imagination warns of the possibility of some dangerous animal lurking in the shadows. Then, my eyes widen as the flashlight reveals something extraordinary. A large hole has formed in the ground, as if something immense had fallen from the sky. My mind wrestles between astonishment and fear as I approach the hole, eager to unravel the mystery unfolding before me. "What is this?", I whispered to myself, feeling completely confused. An unexpected noise breaks the silence, making me jump in fright. I quickly turned, directing the flashlight towards the sound and revealing something unusual on the ground. My eyes meet a majestic figure, a kind of giant wolf with thick fur and injured from the fall. The creature seems stunned, looking at me with eyes that reflect both pain and curiosity.
