Tame Her Alpha

CHAPTER TEN

Nothing would have prepared Catharina for the series of events that followed her when Kane took her to his room. He was literally shaking in anger, but he soon calmed down as he slammed the door shut and slammed her against it, pulling her body close immediately into a tight hug.

She smelled him. It overwhelmed her senses and she found herself lulled into him.

"Why do you keep appearing in front of me?" He asked gently, his body composed. His claws had dissolved back into fingers. And his look was clear as well. Gone was the monstrous bloody look. She could see in his eyes a longing she could not decipher.

"I did not ask to be in front of you, Alpha Kane. It was because of you that I was dragged here from my bed tonight." She threw herself back at him, removing herself from his arms.

"Who came to drag you?" Kane asked, needing his suspicion to be confirmed.

My lodge mates reported me to Luna Laura. So she sent me to investigate. I was brought here soon after. " She stated emphatically that she felt suffocated in his presence. "I have to be on my way, Alpha Kane."

Kane looked at her bewildered. "Do you not have the ability to comprehend this situation?"

"What situation?"

"You have been identified as belonging to me, which means you belong to me now. My scent is all over you. If you so much as leave this room without my permission, you might be used against me in the pack. You are a ticking time bomb at the minute. So you are either my mate or my maid? But since I do not feel the mate's pull towards you, my maid then, "

"I will not be your maid. Alpha Kane," Catharina shouted, without giving it a second thought.

"And why not?" He was interested. It was his first time witnessing an Omega rejecting a duty post.

"Because this is the same place where my friend Alina was killed by you. Alpha Kane." She spat out with so much venom that Kane was horrified at the realization that she was always in front of him.

"This is it then? I always wondered why you were always in front of me. Are you here to take revenge, Catharina? " Kane asked, studying her. She was such a small wolf, but he was sure she had a will of her own beneath all that timid look.

"No, how can I? What power does an Omega have over you? " She cried, looking scared.

Then Kane was not fazed, "Then you are either stupid or you do not realize the power you have now. I did not kill your friend carelessly," Kane retorted as he went to lie down on his bed. I get she is a person, but I am still searching for the reason for my wolf's reacting so violently towards her. And trust me, when I get it, I will let you know, "he said politely.

Catharina regarded him wearily, keeping her distance.

"I do not need your explanation. I only want to go back to my lodge. I have assignments to submit tomorrow at school. Unlike some Alphas, some of us actually take our reading seriously since it is the only thing we rely on to get us by in this pack."

Kane gave her a look at her snide attack but said nothing. He gestured for her to leave with his hands. Catharina's stare stared blankly at him. There was no way she could leave of her own accord. Alpha Jake and Luna Laura are no doubt still waiting for her downstairs.

Kane, as demonic as he was, was looking so much like a better option to her at the moment.

"You can go," he repeated calmly. He raised an eyebrow when she stood still.

"I can’t go down alone,"

"And why not?"

"I am an Omega. I won't leave easily. I will be made to do some strenuous chores and I have some studying to do before class tomorrow. " She pouted, looking up to him for help. But the blank expression Kane stared back at her brought her back to her senses. This was Evil Alpha, the very one that killed Alina. She had to get herself together.

Torn between concern for her personal safety and her resolution, she stood still, her hands on the door handle. She glanced back at Kane’s unmoving form. His gaze was fixed on her now, his eyes clouded, and he burned with such intensity that Catharina knew without being told that Alpha Kane had lost control of his wolf and was now hunting her.

She could either run out, thereby calling attention to herself, which was trouble since this was a Pack’s ruler residence, and no Omega roams free without being a staff member. Her only other option was to submit herself to the devices of the ruthless wolf in front of her, and her body knew well enough the pleasure and pain his wolf would give her. She was trapped between the devil and the deep blue sea.
