My grip on Cassius' arm tightened as we walked closer to the couples, whose eyes were on us.
Once we got to them, I flashed them a smile while Cassius remained unreadable.
“ Happy married life.” I forced the words out of my mouth, trying to sound as natural as possible, but it was rather impossible.
I felt a lump form in my throat, and tears stinging my eyes.
It was taking the last strength in me to hold back my tears.
“ If one tears drop, I will f**k you until you lose your breath, and also your voice.” Cassius whispered into my ear and I swallowed, pushing back the tears.
“ Thank you.” Lucas smiled, the one that doesn't reach his eyes, a pretentious smile. “ I thought you were joking when you said you would be coming with your man.”
