THE PAST 3

Ray POV:

I kissed his head and with that, he shifted back. His eyes were teary, but he leaned in and hugged me. Slowly, I moved his face and gently kissed his full lips, looking into his beautiful chocolate brown eyes, and pouring all my love into it. His lips were soft and electric. I can get lost in his scent and taste. The kiss became passionate and wild. I could smell my arousal. I have never kissed anyone before. I didn’t care or want to stop. I wanted him to kiss me like this for eternity.

But he stops me and gently kisses my head, holding my face in his warm hands, “I should be consoling you. But here you are making me feel better. You are the most amazing person in this world. Ray, I have loved you for as long as I remember. Please don’t feel like you have to say it back now, I will wait for you. I will always protect you and fight for you, even if you don’t return my feelings. You will never cry again; I can promise you that.” With that, he gently kissed me again. His lips are so addictive.

He held me tightly, almost afraid I would disappear right before him. He sighed loudly after looking straight ahead, “I have worried everyone, let’s go back. I will shift, and you get on top of me. We will get back faster.” Before I can protest, he shifts, and I climb up. It’s exhilarating, feeling the wind in my face when he runs. I am holding onto his fur tightly. That excites Thor and he runs faster. He seems happy, I can feel the happiness ripple through him. When we reach back, I climb down, and Thor goes behind the tree to shift and change. Everyone seems to be back too. When we entered, Stacey slapped Blaze on the back of his head.

“That’s for acting impulsively. You did something stupid today, running away like a child and worrying us all. I will hex you something stupid if you repeat this ever again.”

He nervously scratches his head and nods.

Roy spoke, breaking the awkward silence, “I have gotten dinner for everyone. Let’s eat first, then we will think about other things.”

“Ray and Día, Zoe sent chicken soup for the both of you. There are some grilled vegetables and bread too. Ethan told me to give you light food today, even though you had a heavy breakfast and lunch.” He says, passing us our food boxes. They are intricately carved wooden boxes with a metal bowl inside them. I am amazed at how beautiful it looks.

“After your appointment tomorrow, if he feels you are doing better, you can eat anything you want again.” Both of us have tears streaming down our cheeks, we look at each other and smile. This is the most anyone has ever done for us, and these complete strangers are taking care of us like family. Día actually hugged Roy, which made Connor growl ferociously. He sheepishly apologizes and starts getting the food out. We all talk about nothing in particular, as the conversation is lighthearted. Oliver imitates the boys, and they banter back and forth.

After the meal, everyone clears their plates and washes them together. Stacey puts some herbal tea in front of us and sits down.

“Ray, Día if it's OK can we take a look at you tomorrow? I want to make sure you don’t have any magical spells placed on you. It might have some serious side effects. Even if you don’t have any lingering magical spells, you might have magical residue from the potions you might have ingested back in the pack. Luke will work on compulsion after the magic is completely removed.” We both nodded, not knowing what all that meant.

Luke gets us and tells us that he wants us to understand things about different species of supernaturals. He starts explaining Fae, Vampires, and wolves. Then he starts talking about different varieties of wolves. He explains that some wolves are bigger and better than others. He seems like a schoolteacher with how he lectures us about everything. He even pauses to ask if we understood so far. The lecture was meant for us, but everyone was paying attention.

“I am not sure how much you know about the Red Wolves, but they are your family’s legacy. I mean you are the last alive Red Wolves if both of you shift. When we started looking into your pack, we discovered through the council archives that the Black Foot and Red Claw packs were always run by a Red Wolf alpha. Red wolves are basically bigger, stronger, and faster than other wolves. They had some gifts bestowed upon them too. I am not sure what gifts we are talking about, but when yours surfaces we will be able to learn more and help, the both of you.” I told them about my dream when I was unconscious. Día said she had a similar dream when Connor saved her, and she fell unconscious. Everyone is stunned into silence.

Blaze says, “Ray, Día we all think you both are the last surviving red wolves. We will confirm that once you shift, but we will keep searching for any of your distant surviving family members.” Día looks disappointed.

“I don’t think I will shift; I haven’t shifted on my 18th birthday.” Connors hugs her and reassures her. She seems frightened by him, but she doesn’t want to let go of him either.

“Día, I think you were really malnourished and weak. Your wolf would have killed you. I think she is waiting for you to get stronger.”

We both nod, I start yawning. So everyone got up and took their leave. It’s just me and Blaze now. He gets up and puts the hot water kettle in the bathroom.

“Ray, why don’t you sock up in the hot water bath for some time.” I beamed at him. I haven’t taken a bath ever, but I have seen Luna Scarlett use it. When I go to the bathroom, the copper bathtub is filled with hot water, and he even put flowers in it. The bath oils smell amazing. I undress and step into the water. I think about our kiss in the forest. My body is heating up thinking about it. I touch myself and I try to massage my lower lips. Before I can stop myself, I moan loudly. When I keep touching myself, I can’t stop myself from moaning Blaze’s name. I see him standing at the door looking at me with his glowing eyes. He slowly comes in and lifts me up from the bath. He wraps me up in a fluffy towel and takes me to bed. He hasn’t said anything, but he is just so tender and loving.

After he put me on the bed, he asked permission with so many emotions in his husky voice, “Ray, may I kiss u.”

When I nod, he starts kissing me slowly and gently as if testing the water, but soon it becomes passionate and wild when he loses his caution. When he nibbles my lower lip, I gasp, opening my mouth. That’s the entry he was looking for as he dives his tongue deeper tasting me with feverish passion. I am so wet again. My arousal is thick in the room. He controls himself and puts his head on mine.

“Baby, you are still new to us and this world. I want you to explore more before you set your heart on someone.” He says slowly. He must have seen that this hurt my feelings or noticed something in my expression as he continued, “Baby, I love you more than anything in this world, I want you more than I want air to breathe, but we need to take it slow. I don’t want you to regret this.” He gently kisses me again on my lips and my head. He dressed me in his t-shirt which he was wearing and wrapped me up in a blanket, holding me close. I fall asleep instantly dreaming about him while inhaling his beautiful scent.
