Blaze POV:

My father starts talking with his signature smirk in place, Seth looks smug next to him. I can see him twisting his ring, knowing it would make me accept whatever he is about to say. It’s not going to work this time. We know all his cards. Stacey rings defend against any charms or spells cast on and around us, it also helps us see the dark magic aura of those spells. It won’t help with stronger spells, but whatever my father concocted is child’s play for Stacey.

“Alpha, I am going. I have already packed. I will be leaving next week.”

“No, you are coming home. We would like you to accept Sarah as your Luna and make your team. You will take over as the next Alpha soon.”

“I cannot do that. I have told you before, I will wait for my mate. I need to sharpen my skills to be a good Alpha. I am going. Connor and Roy will be coming with me.”

Everyone goes rigid. They were expecting me to just fold. That’s how every one of our chats goes. When they ask me to do something, I simply do it. I have always known they were using charmed objects to make me agree, but I was pretending to be under their spells. I can see the beta and gamma rubbing their rings too. While my father just scowls, narrowing his eyes. Scarlett is ready to bolt. I didn’t know she would be the smart one here. Sarah tries to say something, but I just hold my hand up to silence her. Waiters come in to serve our main course and the whole atmosphere turns cold and awkward. They drop the fragrant stuffed Ayam Cemani and escargot. Ayam Cemani is a type of black chicken. I think Scarlett has finally lost her mind. This is the most expensive meal I ever had. Whoever thought of ordering Ayam cemani for dinner is absolutely nuts, it’s the most expensive chicken in the world. And here we each have our own whole chicken on the plate. Then the waiter drops the 6 most expensive bottles of red burgundy on the table. Just seeing the words 30-year-old on the label is enough to know that this bottle is expensive.

I am so angry that I am almost vibrating, they have wasted the hard-earned money of our pack members splurging like this. Roy and Blake were holding my hand under the table, so I didn’t shift and kill all of them this instant. My Wolf Thor is also very angry, but he understands the importance of today and is holding back strongly. He hasn’t said anything the whole day today. I know the reason why he got to see her today, and it helps him calm down a little.

Roy links me, “Focus on Ray, calm down Blaze. This is for her.”

Connor links next, “Focus on Ray. Breathe in and out. Calm down. We don't have a choice. We can't alert them.” That helps me a little.

His words got to me. I relax myself by taking deep breaths. I am very agitated that I can’t kill them, but my irritation is making Alpha Simon feel that the charm is doing its job of affecting me. Finally, he starts talking, satisfied that the spell has taken effect.

“You will do as I say, Blaze. That’s an order.”

Before I can say something stupid and ruin the whole plan. Roy jumps in, he is more tactical and levelheaded among all of us.

“Alpha, if I may. I think if we go on this journey, it will help the pack. We can scout new hunting grounds and make a map of the small neighboring packs. That will help us expand. I think that will give us a new income source too.”

“Roy, that actually sounds wonderful. I would like that map before you finish your vacation. Or you will not like the punishment your failure follows when you return.”

“Of course, Alpha.”

And just like that, everyone goes back to eating. They are trying hard to control themselves. Sarah keeps staring at me and rubbing her necklace. Roy and Blake both have noticed her odd behavior as well. When she tries giving me the wine, I simply refuse. Then she dipped her nail in it and passed it to me again. I am done with her drama. That girl is a fool. I can see her doing it, and she knows that too. She still passes it to me. I won’t drink it; it looks gross and unsanitary. Even if whatever she is doing, it won’t affect me.

When they are done eating, you can see a lot of leftover food on their plates. What a waste of food and money. They ordered the most expensive dishes and still, they didn’t eat them. They say their goodbyes and stand walking towards the door. Scarlett tries to come towards me, but when she sees my glowing eyes and Thor makes his presence known, she runs back to the group without a word. She is terrified of Thor. He almost killed her that day, so I don't think she will ever be stupid enough to be close to him.

I can finally relax after they are gone. The room is saturated with their horrendous stench. I got out of here as soon as I could, shifting into Thor. Running will help me burn my excess anger; I can’t afford to do something stupid right now. It is almost midnight when I am calm enough to think rationally. Coming back to the dormitory, I found almost everyone waiting for me. Everyone is here just as we planned, now we can finally make our move and end this horrible game. Connor is about to say something, but Luke stops him. Roy is the one who bites the bullet and says what’s going on.

“Delta John Millar’s twins called earlier. Oliver and Eric are ready at the motel across town. They have Eric’s mate with them. Her name is Ria, she is a kitchen omega. They could not risk her life. If Simon found out, he would have killed her.”

“OK, that makes sense, we need to help them. What about Gamma Michael’s youngest son, Jack?”

“He is looking after Ray and will link us if anything happens before we reach back there.”

Thor purrs, listening to Ray’s name. Everyone looks at me, but they stop themselves from commenting on it.

“Nicholas your half-brother is back in the pack.” That makes my heart leap, he is even worse than my father and that is saying something.

That’s what is bothering everyone. They know he will do something to harm Ray if we don’t act fast. He is the worst person or wolf on this planet. He is shorter than me with dull brown hair and dead eyes. He is a sadistic person who loves torturing people and hitting Ray is his favorite pastime. I am actually worried about her life as the last time he almost killed her. We should start moving as soon as possible. We can’t waste any more time now, not even a minute. We divide into two teams and decide on a location to meet back. Stacey has a cabin deep inside the wilderness surrounded by menacing trees and old growth which is well hidden and protected for them to wait if our team takes longer than anticipated. Or they will just meet us at our place if something goes wrong with their plan. Her mother gave us the cabin last year while we planned what we needed to do. Luke, Stacey, Connor, Eric, Ria, and Oliver will move towards the cabin tomorrow morning after visiting Black foot pack with their precious cargo. Blake, Roy, and I will go to Red Claw Pack to meet with Jack and Allen. Allen is Jack’s younger brother.

Finally, it’s happening. We have been planning for all this for as long as I remember. Thor is excited to finally have his bluey with him and, most importantly, safe. We will always keep her safe. That’s an unspoken promise between us. He simply nods his head in agreement and goes back to his beauty sleep. For being called a monster and beast, he sure is a lazy wolf.
