“We deserve a good meal at a nice restaurant,” Josie said an hour later when the quartet was back in their unit.
Snap nodded heartily. “I’ll second that.”
“I agree,” Rudy said. “So get cleaned up and into decent clothes.”
Even with everyone taking showers, they were ready to leave in just under forty-five minutes.
“Walk or drive?” Rudy asked.
Terry shrugged. “Depends on what we want to eat.”
“There’s a pizza place within walking distance,” Snap suggested hopefully.
“Anywhere but downtown,” Josie said at the same time.
“For sure.” Rudy rapped a knuckle on his teeth. “Let’s drive, go east past Cheesman Park, and explore what’s available. I don’t want to go to Colfax. No sense taking a chance of running into anyone we used to know.”
“That’s for damned sure,” Snap agreed.
