They returned after dark. The Swedish winter had covered the whole area in a thick, white blanket. The air was cold, well below freezing. The sky was dark, but the stars shone brightly, like sharp ice crystals. Their light reflected off the snow and created a faint blue glow. The Lancaster Holdings research station, officially a place for testing medicines, was alone in a forest of tall pine trees.
