Lunchtime came. Amelia dragged me to the cafeteria as she dragged me around in the morning. I just followed her silently. She gave me advice on which food will taste good and which ones will taste like cardboard. She cringed while telling me. She is cute underneath all the dragging and talkative.

She brought us to her table which had two guys sitting while munching on their meals.

“Guys, I brought the new student with me,” She exclaimed while seating beside one of them. I had no choice but to seat next to the other guy.

“Hey, I am Daniel, 18 a senior,” he smiled softly,

“I am Conner, same, I am 18 years old,” he spoke with confidence in his voice,

Well, well, look it is the target’s son. Seems like it will be easier to collect the information I required.

“He—ll—oo, I am Layla, I am 16 years old, it is nice to meet you” I stammered.

“Don’t be nervous around us. We may act crazy but we will not hurt you” Daniel assured her.

“I have seen you somewhere” Conner whispered under his breath. I heard him, tensing slightly.

He is right, I have seen him somewhere and it is not because he is my target’s son. I have seen him somewhere else.

I decided to look into it when I go back after school.

“Why did you transfer over here?” Amelia asked me,

“Daddy is branching his business over here. It will take a long time for it to get stabilized, so he moved the whole family here,” I spoke while stammering here and there, but it became lesser to show that I am getting comfortable with them.

“What is his company name?” Daniel asked,

“BL Corps” I replied, it is a legit company. The cover name of the person who runs it is Cristian Willison. Yes, I used my father name, no it was because mama asked me to use his name when she found out about my business.

“I have heard about it. They have been getting famous internationally. Amazingly, your dad is branching it out in our country,” Daniel gushes as his eyes twinkle in amazement. Huh, he idols the company’s CEO, who happens to be me. He will be shocked in two years’ time when I reveal myself to the world.

I learnt that Conner was in most of my class in the afternoon. As I spent more time with him, he is getting more familiar. There is something about him that reminds me of someone.

Three months passed since I came here. I have still yet to find out how I know him. Today is the day, I will update my team on my progress in the mission.

“Hey!!” Isis screamed from the other side,N

“I miss you too, Isis and everyone” I laughed,

“How’s everything on your side” Luca went straight to the point. He is avoiding personal conversation. I can understand why he misunderstood my words. I chuckled inwardly.

“It is going right on track. I might complete the mission sooner than we thought” as I told them everything that happened the last three months. We spend another half an hour chatting about what happened on their side.

I also found out that Cristian and his sons demanded to see me. And also, ordered me to return home at once. Zion has abandoned his family and has settled down in my building at the moment. He does not want to go home without me. He turned red when they told me about it. I was amazed that he wants to stay by my side through it all.

Another month passed by, when something unexpected happened, something I did not expect to happen.

“Meet me tonight at 33rd rd in bbc around 12 midnight” Conner whispered as he left school.

Looks like he knows something. I shall find out what he knows. Around 11 pm, I left my house, dressed fully in black but still wore glasses. I reached the location 10 minutes before it turns midnight.

“You can remove the glasses, Bella, I know who you are” I heard Conner’s voice, looking behind me I saw a smirk on his face.

“Well, you are a smart boy,” I chuckled as I removed my disguise.

“What are you going to do with me now,” I asked him,

“I am going to help you. Help you bring down my father once and for all” he stated,

“Why should I trust you?” I scoffed,

“You should trust me like you trusted my brother, he deserves justice Berry,” his voice broke while I froze like ice.

“What did you just call me” I spoke slowly,

“Berry,” he answered while tears rolled down his cheeks,

“What happened to Dylan, and how are you related to him?” I questioned him. Dylan is my childhood best friend and one day before my mum’s death he disappeared. He told me if something happens to him, he will send someone he trusts to tell me what happened to him and the code word will be ‘Berry’.

“Dylan is my brother Bella. He confronted his father about your mother when he found out about you. Father killed him during the argument, a year later, he shot my mum in front of him, I wanted to find you but I was scared to die before taking revenge for mama and Dylan,” Conner spoke while breaking down.

Now I know why Conner seems familiar, Dylan used to show me pictures of his cute baby brother.

“Conner, I am sorry. I am an indirect reason why he died” I apologized not knowing what to do while my heart was breaking.

“No, no, don’t apologize. Brother’s last words were, ‘Con, I want you to find Bells, and help her to stop Father’,” Conner stammered,

“I promise you, Conner, I will bring your father down once and for all,” I sneered in anger, this is getting more personal than ever.

I told Conner my last-minute revised plan. It is time to go lose full contact with my team.

Conner is gay, which made the next step easier. We became a fake couple. Which was a valid reason for me to hang out with him at his house often.
