Last Chance Given

They walked with me towards the house I was living in. I opened the door and walked up the stairs.  Only my brother followed me into my room. I heard him gasp softly at the state of my room.

“This is one of the best room I had in years,” I told him.

“What do you mean?” he asked in a low voice, I could hear the guilt seeping out.

“Nothing do worry; I am fine and happy” I gave him a fake smile which he seemed to believe. Looks like he is the kind of guy who looks at the good things and avoids negative things.

“Lets’ go,” I told them after I grabbed my duffel bag filled with clothes. They looked at me shocked,

“That’s all of your belongings?” Aaron questioned me. I nodded and did not explain myself further.

“So, where do live at?” I looked Evan,

“Country A” he answered while deep in thoughts and I just shrugged.

When we left the house, there was a black car waiting at the front. I followed the guys as they got into the car.  Since the car belongs to them, I get on it as well. 30 minutes later the car came to a stop at one of the private airbases in the country. They are rich, it does not matter to me. I will still leave once I hit 18 years old.

5 hours later, we landed in country A smoothly. Three cars were waiting as we alighted. Two cars were filled with security team who were fully armed. We got into the second car. I observed the view en route to wherever we are going.

A few minutes later, the cars came to a stop in front of a big castle styled mansion.

“We are here,” Aaron spoke with a bright smile, maybe he hoped that I will be happy and smile back. I did not smile; I just nod my head while keeping my face blank.

“The helpers will bring your stuff up to your room. We will first meet the family before we let you rest and freshen up” Evan spoke as led us into the house and down the corridor.

He stopped in front of a door, he looked at me for a moment before he opened the door and walked in, followed by Aaron and then me.

“She is back.” Evan just stated while everyone in the room stared at me. I just stood there looking at them and analyze them as much as I could.

“Bella, it is great to have you back home again,” an older man stood up with a wide smile that made his eyes twinkled with joy.

“Erm,” I just cleared my throat.

“About my living situation, I would like to know, how long am I supposed to live here? Am I allowed to leave after I turn 18?” I asked the man a similar question to what I asked my principal.

“What are you talking about? You are here to stay forever. I am not letting you go or leave us again” the man spoke demandingly.

“You are the father,” I looked at him while he gave me a shocked expression before nodding,

“Sorry, I lost a few of my memories due to an incident a few years ago, so I do not remember anyone before I was 11 years old,” I apologized with no emotions.

I can see everyone trying to see if I was speaking the truth.

“Boys introduce yourself to your sister” the dad ordered his sons,

“I am Alceste, I am 25 years old, and I am the oldest here,” A man with the same hair and eyes as I spoke with voices laced with coldness.

“You already know me, I am Evan, 22 years old, second oldest,” he said with a smile,

“Keshawn, I am 21 years old, I am rarely home, I am a doctor” he introduced himself with tired eyes

I am Chris, 19 years old,” the guy from the twins spoke, he spoke with calmness in his voice and words.

“I am Cameron, 19 years old and please do not disturb me” he scoffed before going back to his phone.

“Hello, I am Antoine, I am 17 years old, a year older than you. Feel free to come to me anytime, I rarely sleep. Oops!” he looked at his father with big eyes hoping not to get caught, I think.

“Bella, 16 years old” I introduced myself before turning to Aaron,

“Can you show me where my room is at? I would like to rest a bit” I asked him, ignoring my so-called family. Aaron looked at everyone before nodding. He stood up and led me to my room.

“Why do you seem comfortable with me and not your family,” he asked me,

“You are a stranger to me, and I have no reason to hate you,” I told him simply. I took out my phone and sent out an email to my university asking for a month break. I got a reply immediately of them approving my break.

I need to message some people, but I will do it after a nap. We are now walking down the second floors’ corridor.

“The room is arranged by your ages. Alceste’s room is the first and your is right opposite him.” he stopped and open the door to my room, which was big and looked like a dream princess room. Pink filled the room making me grimace at the colour. Seems like, I might have to change the colour and make it look like my room, only if I was allowed.

“Alright, rest up, dinner is at 7 pm and I think they invited the whole family for dinner to introduce you to them all” Aaron informed me of the agenda. I nodded acknowledging what he said.

I changed into my favourite pyjamas; it was a set. Long-sleeved, with stars on the sleeves, and the side of the pant had them as well.

I set my alarm clock on my phone to wake me up half an hour before dinner so that I can send a message to my friends about the changes in my life.

I had a wonderful sleep. No interruption caused by any nightmares or flashback. I got up right when my alarm started to ring. Turning it off, I went to the bathroom and washed my face, tied my hair into a messy bun and wearing my rabbit-eared headband.

I opened my room door and walked out while typing out a message to my friend group chat.

As I was messaging them, I bumped into a hard wall, as I fall back, I looked up to see it was one of the twins. He grabbed onto my arms, stopping my fall. I shake his hand off right away. If he held on any longer, I will be panicking, and only my friends can handle that side of me.

“Watch where you are walking” he sneered and walked off. I just shrugged his attitude away; I have no time to play along with his childish behaviour.

As I entered the dining room that was filled up by the brothers and father. My phone rang with Taylor swift’s love story,

I picked it up, “What?” I asked monotone,

“I know, I do not know any details yet. mmmm, I will let you know as soon as I know about it. You can send it over. I will send you the address. Thank you. Take care. Mmmm, love you too,” I hanged up the call. It was my closest friend in my life.

“Who was that?” father asked me, making me look at him, I tilted my head sideways thinking of whether I should answer him or not,

“Someone I know” I answered him curtly,

“We know that. We want a name and the gender” Cameron spoke rudely,

“I am not obliged to answer any of you, so that answer I gave your father was already more than enough” I spoke to him while looking him in the eye.

“Shall we eat, or is the interrogation going to be continued?” I asked them as I took a seat away from them all.

“Why are you sitting there?” Aaron asked me,

” I am not a big fan of physical contact Aaron,” I gave him a small smile.

“Seems, we have a slut sister,” Cameron mumbled under his breath but I heard him, I kept silent. Cause what he does not know is what will hurt him in the future.
