The first week after Aleksei left, he called nearly everyday, and no matter what I am doing, I would drop it just to spend the next hour shaking my leg and grinning like a cat. And then the following week, he warned me he wouldn't be able to call for a while, I thought that meant maybe two days or three. Turns out it was f*****g two weeks. He leaves me in this big house on the Upper East Side with a maid who cooks and cleans while I work, eat, and sleep. God, I’ve been doing a lot of those. And getting sick too.
