The sound of Nico stepping into the room pulls my attention back to the present. He’ll be my best man, the closest thing I’ve got to a friend. As usual, he’s expressionless, standing just inside the door with his hands clasped in front of him. I look away from the mirror. “Are they here?” I ask, crossing to the black double-breasted jacket laid over the couch. “Yes,” he replies. “They look ready to start something.” A small smile curls my mouth as I shrug into the jacket. “They won’t dare. Did you send the pictures?” “Yes. Along with the warning.” Nico steps closer, adjusts my cravat with sharp precision. “We’ve got eyes inside.
