Chapter 18: I Once Again Ran Out Of Titles

604 Words
Salin This is just one of the gods' f*cking with me right? There's no way something like this just happens when I was just conveniently in the city! I have no idea, but if there is a god behind this, they're getting smacked. Oh, hello again. It's been a while since you dropped by! Oh, what's going on? Well, you see......ah hell, I might as well just tell you. Apparently, some young royals decided to sneak out of the big giant castle for some fun. Cliché, I know, but it happens. Anyway, they got found out, and some goons are chasing them down the streets and into the alleys. Now, I got a dilemma. Sure, I can go down there and save them, like the heroic demonic dragon I am, or, I can sit here and do nothing. What? Not like they don't have a bodyguard unit, in fact, they're quite close to finding them. Just....30 minutes away. God damn it. Oi, watch your language. Shut up old man. Look kid, just go and save them. You won't even need to cast a single spell to get rid of those goons, you know that. And I can just have a Shadow Fiend deal with them, easily. What do you think Royals would think if a demonic looking figure appears out of nowhere and kills a bunch of criminals? You'd put the city on high alert! Ughh, fine. I'll do it myself. I hate human transformation. Arzok Damn you brother, for your recklessness, and my idiotic self, for running after you! From my left, I could hear him yell out. "Why did this happen?!" I could feel my blood boil just a tiny bit at that. "Because you wanted to go outside without our guards, you dingus!" "Hey! Even you found it fun, I know it!" "Doesn't mean this isn't your fault, Arzen!" From behind us, I could hear them cackle, probably already counting the gold they'd receive for handing us in within their heads. Just as I start to prepare myself to be captured and sold like livestock, a thunderous boom is heard from above us, and as I look up, I see a black blur zooming down towards us. That's all I could see however, as it crashed behind us, to the criminals following us. "GAH!" I could hear my brother yell out, as the blur strikes the ground, sending everyone sprawling onto the ground. ................ My ears were ringing, but I manage to move my sore limbs to pick myself up off the the ground, and when I turn around, I couldn't see much through the dust. Except for a man, in a black coat, engraved with silver. Salin I'm really starting to regret this. Oh come on, it looks good on you! I look like an edgelord! Just save them already. Fine. I'll do it. Anyway, after a dramatic sigh, I look up to see a group of standard issue criminals. Tattered clothing, battered weapons, and that stupid look in their eyes. "Oi! Piss off, and we won't hurt you. Got it?" Oh, they're not sure, it seems. For good reason. You see, in this world, you can somewhat measure something's strength by looking at the air around them. If the air looks normal, you'll be fine. If the air looks like it's near a fire, be careful. If the air's starting to look dark and wavy, f*cking run. Guess what mine is? Now then, time to deal with this. So I crack my knuckles, and got to work. After all, what else does a champion got to do around here?
