Chapter 11 : I Really Don't Know What to Put Here

847 Words
Salin Did I just get hanged out to dry by my mother? Well, it's more like she's making you learn how to survive, by leaving you alone in the middle of nowhere. You do realize that's what being 'hanged out to dry' means. I really do wonder where you go every time you finish doing whatever you're doing here, but welcome back. 'What happened?' you ask? Well, turns out that high dragons (The dragons of Light, Darkness, Demon, Space and Time) have the tradition of sending out the children into the world to teach them how to survive. They literally just pick up the kid, fly them to some obscure area, leave them there, then fly away. In my case, I'm currently in your standard 'grass plains' with nothing in sight. Well, you're in the Human Empire, but yeah. Also, who on earth are you talking to? Alright, so where's the nearest form of civilisation? Uh, right. About that.... Let me guess, rules again? Yeah. I can't just tell you where it is specifically, all I can do is just give you vague directions, anything more than that is immediately considered interfering. Alright, where is the nearest form of civilisation? Head North-East. I immediately find the sun, turn a bit, and started heading in that direction. 1 hour later.. Aeyr, I don't think an abandoned tent with human corpses strewn around it is considered a 'form of civilization'. Sorry, but you need to be more specific in your questions or this happens. Fine, where is the closest town, that is not destroyed and not hostile? Hold on, let me check..... Okay, head North. Thanks. 2 hours later... YOU SAID THERE"S NO DANGER! There WAS no danger! Then why the **** is the town under siege?! There's around 800 men (and women) in the sieging army, with things like battering rams, siege ladders and catapults. The defending side only have around 200 soldiers. Time to split. HOLD IT! Why? ....Are you seriously asking me why. Go help them I don't want to. Kid come on! No. Fine. *DING* A screen appeared in front of me. Your patron god has issued a divine order to you! End the siege of Eldham. Should you disobey, your patron would be extremely disappointed. ......was that seriously the worst thing you can put as the punishment? You want me to seal away for magic and senses away for 2 months? Disappointment it is. So, how should I do this? Shadow Fiend, maybe. Or should I do this directly? Just do something by yourself for once would you? Fine, I will. What's their average level anyway? Around level 18 to 21 for standard infantry. Level 30+ for captains. You do realise that I'm only level 28 right? You are a demonic dragon. They are basic humans. Ah, right. Can you do it already? Yeah yeah old man. Unnamed Enemy Leader What kind of idiotic leader leaves a mere 100 men to defend one of the most prosperous towns in the kingdom? Whatever, that bastard was creepier than a necromancer, but he wasn't lying. The siege equipment definitely helps. Out of nowhere, a panicked yell was heard. "S-Sir!" I turn, falling into confusion at the fear on his face. "What is it?" "Sir, the rear is under attack!" "What?!" I answer in shock. There's 800 men, all trained soldiers, in the encampment, what kind of insanity does it take to attack that? "By who?!" "By a Dragon!" *BOOM* Salin I know that they're humans, but can't they put up more of a fight? Your stats quintuple them. Their weapons break on your scales, their spells disperse on your skin. How the hell are they going to be able to put up a fight? I don't know. I answer as I send a group flying with my tail. Aim for something soft like my eyes? They'll miss, you know that. Meh, the experience is good though. I reply as I incinerate those around me. By the way, is sh*t like this common? Not really. This is probably just a group of deserters. Eh, is there a war going on? Gah! A spear nearly pierced my eye. I bit the guy who held it. Yeah, but you probably won't be involved, so you'll be fine. By the way, can I finish this already? I spit him out. It was fun at the start, but it is getting boring. Sure, nothing's stopping you. Flapping my wings, I fly until I can see the entire army spread out beneath me. A magic symbol appeared, and giant arrows (though at this point they were larger than spears) formed throughout the circle. I look down, and I could see some of them starting to run away. The arrows went down. Most of them died in one hit, but some of them took around 2 - 3 to keel over. Finally it's over. I flew back down. By the way kid, you're forgetting something. Hmm? What? Look behind you. I turn to see the town's garrison staring at me in shock. Sh*t.
