Alpha Bladen's POV By the time the meeting concluded, the moon was high and full, heavy with silver light that scattered across the courtyard stones. Anderson saw off our guests and dismissed the guards, leaving me alone in the lingering quiet but peace didn’t follow. Not tonight, not with my people sick, not with Ironclad growing suspicious and not with Mia’s scent still buried in my thoughts even though she was miles away. I exhaled, long and strained. Tomorrow, the council would convene and more questions would definitely come from the elders. Questions I wasn't sure I could answer yet, fortunately, I had some good news to share. Tomorrow, another pack member might fall sick but for tonight, Bloodmoon stood... Barely, but it stood and I could tell that its people slept uneasily. W
